Much beloved Sarah Lynne Franck, nee Hatcher, died suddenly on November 29, 2021. The cause was complications resulting from acute sepsis. She was only 42. Born and raised in Irvine, CA, she spent her life in Southern California. From an early age she could spend hours, and days, reveling in the enchantments of Disneyland, eventually working there as an Attractions Cast Manager on the ever-popular Matterhorn bobsleds ride. Disneyland was always a place for her to return to. Her training at Disneyland, especially learning how to handle crowds firmly yet politely, served her well in what became her real passion: teaching at public high schools. She loved her work and her students admired and respected her. As did her colleagues. At her death she was teaching Advanced Placement Psychology at California High School in Whittier, CA. Her enthusiasm in the classroom is so greatly missed. She leaves behind many who gravely mourn her loss, most keenly her beloved husband George and their two sons George IV and Andrew. Others who survive her are her father and stepmother Patrick and Karen Hatcher, her brother Geoff, sister-in-law Alice, nieces Charli and Ella, and nephew Drake. Many members of the extended Franck clan cherished her as well, especially her in-laws, George and Jane Franck. Her longtime best friend Gregg Surrell is missing her terribly. She was predeceased by her mother Judith Hatcher. We are still trying to come to grips with her untimely death, and how we are going to fill the holes in our hearts that she left us with. This online memorial is, we hope, a place for all of us who loved and miss her to gather and remember all that she brought to this world.
