Robert Carr, a beloved husband, father, and mate, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and enduring memories that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert was born in Brisbane. From a young age, it was clear that he possessed a remarkable spirit and an unwavering determination that would guide him throughout his life. A dedicated family man, Robert was devoted to his wife, Mary, and their three children, David, Laura, and Sarah. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he always put their needs and happiness above all else. After graduating from the University of Queensland with a degree in engineering, Robert embarked on a successful career that spanned over four decades. He was respected and admired by his colleagues for his expertise, integrity, and tireless work ethic. Robert's contributions to his field were significant, and his innovative solutions and projects will benefit future generations. Outside of his professional life, Robert was an active member of his community. He volunteered at local shelters, participated in community clean-up efforts, and was a regular at town meetings, always advocating for positive changes. His generosity and commitment to helping others were evident in everything he did. Robert had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his free time hiking, fishing, and camping with his family. He believed in the healing power of nature and found great joy in sharing these experiences with his loved ones. His adventurous spirit and love for exploration inspired many unforgettable family trips and adventures. A man of many talents, Robert was also an avid reader, a skilled woodworker, and an enthusiastic gardener. He approached every hobby with the same dedication and passion that he brought to all aspects of his life. His home was filled with beautiful handcrafted items and a lush garden that was the envy of the neighbourhood. Robert's warmth, humour, and unwavering support made him a cherished friend to many. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and heard, and his presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on July 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St. Andrew's Church in Brisbane. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Council Australia, a cause that was very close to Robert's heart. Robert Carr will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the love he shared with those around him will remain with us forever.
