    Celebrating the life of

    Pauline Megannety

    15 Mar 1953 - 17 Nov 2019

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Pauline Megannety, a beloved mother, wife, gramma, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, on November 17th, 2019. She left us far too soon after a short but tough battle with cancer. She was in her 66th year. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1953, Pauline moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario in infancy and eventually became a big sister to 4 siblings. She was a smart cookie even in childhood and graduated from high school (NFCVI) 2 years early. She studied fashion and design at Sheridan College and at 17 she met the Paul to her Pauline, who convinced her to follow him out west to start a new life in Vancouver. It was there where she heard the calling of Accounting and started her training at Arthur Anderson, where she met some of her closest lifelong friends, and in 1983 welcomed their first child Morgan, and 5 years later their baby boy, Brendan. Pauline continued on in Accounting, receiving both her CMA and CPA designations, and worked in both public and private practice until her retirement in the summer of 2018. Pauline worked hard to fill her family's life with fun and adventure - theatre visits, road trips, garage sales, and vacations abroad. She loved seeing new places and was a pro at finding museums and attractions slightly off the beaten path. Her and Paul spent 2 months in London in 2018, helping welcome the newest addition to the family into the world, Morgan’s daughter Riley. Pauline loved being a grandmother. We are all heartbroken to not have more time with our special queen, but find solace in a lifetime of memories and laughter. Pauline is survived by Paul, her husband of 46 years, her children Morgan and Brendan, grandbaby Riley, her sisters Dodie and Barbara Sue, brother Johnny, and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. We will be having a celebration of her wonderful life at the Dockside Lounge at the Granville Island Hotel on Sunday the 24th of November at 1pm. In lieu of flowers we ki
