Leonardo Martinez was known as “Pete” by his family and friends. He was married to his wife Edna for 48 years. They met on March 29, 1970, when Edna was 16 and he was 19. They had three daughters, Clarissa, Melanie, and Alicia. Fabian joined the family when he married Clarissa. Jeffrey joined the family two years later when he married Melanie. Two wonderful grandchildren, Delilah and Justin completed the family. Memories of A Gentle Soul I see his smile so sincere I see the excitement in his eyes as if a child I feel his concern - the love from his heart he was so eager to share
Kendra Revell Uncle Pete♥️🕊 I miss you so much. I keep hearing your voice replaying in mind- “Hey kennnay” followed by a smile and a small laugh every-time I came over to your house. Thank you for always having the right tools to fix everything and anything. Anytime anything went wrong Alicia would always say “My dad can fix it for you”. I look around my room and literally anything broken was back up because Uncle Pete fixed it. You were quiet by nature but your heart was so big it spoke volumes. Just being in your presence on all those car rides home I felt like the safest girl in the world. I will always remember you standing on the front porch looking out. I love you✨

Everything I see reminds me of Pete. Even the small things. Birds flying, clouds, rain, sunshine, flowers, trees and so much more. He was a humble person that enjoyed those simple things that many take for granted. But Pete knew that Jehovah's hands were in all that he observed and enjoyed. Silently, Pete worshipped the creator. For this reason I f...

Pete will always be missed. We had much in common, we took on many projects together and was glad I had the opportunity to work closely with him, he enjoyed working on cars and helping others, when he stared at a tree or a living creature , I saw how he admired our creator, he enjoyed the ocean and the peace that came with it. He loved his family....

The thing that stands out to me about Peté is that he was a decent person. That makes him super special to me. Our lives on this planet are short. The Bible calls life a vapor. We are here one moment and gone the next. In the final analysis our credentials are meaningless. Our awards mean nothing. In fact people are not interested in our accomplish...
Very few people in your life do you really know. Some you know for a couple of years some longer but people surprise you all the time with who they real are. My brother In Law Peté passed away two days ago, one month ago he caught the Corona virus which led to other complications. Just one month and now we lost him. I think back to the first da...

Elliot Ortiz Miss you Pete "Joe Bataan" Martinez “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, ‘Who knows whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.”
Not Thou but I by Philip Bourke Marston It must have been for one of us, my own, To drink this cup and eat this bitter bread, Had not my tears upon thy face been shed, Thy tears had dropped on mine; if I alone Did not walk now, thy spirit would have known My loneliness, and did my feet not tread This weary path and steep, thy feet had bled F...
Pete was more than a brother-in-law. He was as close to me as my brothers. Whenever I went back to NY to stay with him and Edna, Pete always made sure I had my favorite cheese danish and Italian bread there. He always brought our mother the Spanish newspaper. Pete was a gentleman in every sense. We loved to tease him when he did something wrong. ...
Pete was a special person and we all loved him very much. He was a good father, friend and especially a good husband. He was the type of person who would do anything for you. Many times Pete would fix our car, when it needed repair. He also use to take Andre Jr. Fishing. Pete was a hard worker for his family, as his family was everything to him. W...
I didn’t know Peter very well, but I do know he always stopped to say hello whenever I caught him leaving the Kingdom Hall. He had a warm smile and always shared it with me. I know Edna is hurting right now but having the resurrection hope in Acts 24:15 is a wonderful blessing. I look forward to seeing Peter real soon. I miss & love you Edna.
The Greatest Love Story When we moved to Puerto Rico when we were young we left many loved ones in N.Y. Edna left her boyfriend, Pete. Edna, did not know then that Pete would be her husband and the love of her life. I guess Pete knew. Pete decided to go to Puerto Rico to look for Edna. I remember Pete told us that when he got to the town of Guayan...
