One of them is Ambika Prasad that fondly remembers attending your wedding with my dearest chitthi in 1973 Ambika said that you introduced beautiful chitthi to them by saying 'meet my snow-white wife' What a great bonding of love 💕💕

Subhramani Sathyanarayan Jayaram Periappa has always stood out from the rest of the family from the time I knew him growing up. Always different in his interests and attitude towards things. I was able to appreciate this better only once I grew up and took a liking for the same things. In fact, my mother often says I remind her a lot of Periappa in many ways! Our love for wildlife- birds in particular, and travel, was a common topic in most of our conversations. A couple of years ago, we moved into our new house which was surrounded by birds and I was so so happy that he took the time to come and stay with us for those two days. We enjoyed that short but exclusive time with him. We would have loved to have him back but now, we can only be thankful for the good times we’ve had and the memories we created together. Thank you Periappa for breaking the stereotype and being a role model for us. We really will miss you!

Mahesh Sastry This was on 15th August 2022 .Actually it was a dry day being Independance day, but since I was coming, he had got this can of Beer a day in advance and looked forward to having it with me. I was surprised and thrilled too and enjoyed the evening with chilled beer and hot discussions with him on Modi, politics , wild life, civilization and history. I will miss him a lot especially my Mumbai visits and the intellectual stimulation I had discussing and arguing with him. I also remember the previous visit when I had a party with my old Mumbai friends in Andheri and reached very late perhaps 1am and he waited till late night to open the door.

Sudha srivatsa here. My husband srivatsa and myself met him about a month back before his passing. He was as enthusiastic as ever and jokingly told us that his right leg was totally gone. He never missed any opportunity to make his RA turn into a joke, which made us feel he was not suffering at all. When I invited him with vaidehi to visit us at My...

Soon after my marriage, he was introduced to me by Mohan as a man of 'Bournvita quiz'.From then I observed him a lot. Yes, he is a man of knowledge knowing many things. But won't open up very easily. What I feel is we have not explored him thoroughly. As rightly said he is master of many subjects. If you sit and talk, you can listen for hours. I ho...
Muralikrishna KR I am happy to say that during my childhood I was Jayaram Mama's favourite. He used to call me curly tops..He was very close to my mother and used to speak to her regularly. He was a very empathetic and kind person and used to share his knowledge whenever possible. Once he mistakenly thought my mother had RA and sent me an email related to RA and how it should be treated. Shared that mail..His kindness and understanding had no bounds. Year 2010 was bad for me financially as I was getting a house constructed and also lost my father. Jayaram mama visited us, stayed with us for a day, enquired my mother as to how the construction was going and left for Mumbai. On reaching his house, he called and gave my mother his mail ID and asked me to send my account details ..He rightly understood my need for financial assistance without me even asking him and chose to voluntarily give me a small loan . Have shared the communication I had with him..His good deed helped me immensely and allowed me to tide through my bad phase. Can never forget it. He will always be in my memory 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
We have known Jayaram Anna for 50 years and he was a good friend more than a relative. He was an erudite and a lively person. And a good conversationist - we discussed varied subjects like music, computers, history and world affairs to name a few and the depth of his knowledge on these subjects was exceptional. We used to discuss about the book...
Dear Jayaram Mama My early memory of you is at mavalli house where you scolded me for some mischief that I had done. I used to be scared of you when I was young because I remembered you as an angry person. But as I grew older and got to know you better and you visited Chennai frequently I enjoyed your visits and your company a lot. We talked a lo...
