    Dr. Guillermo "Emmong" Cresencia

Dr. Guillermo “Emmong” Ramos Cresencia was called to the Lord on the morning of March 18, 2020. Born on February 11, 1924, Guillermo and his family lived in the city of Urdaneta in Pangasinan, and it was in the neighborhood of Nancayasan that he would spend a majority of his formative years. Despite having to endure many hardships, including surviving the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during WWII, Guillermo’s resilient nature allowed him to persevere and he was eventually able to graduate from the University of Philippines College of Medicine. After living for some time in the U.S. to start his own family, Guillermo and his family moved back to his hometown, where he was a prominent member of the community. Though mainly occupied as a farmer at the time, Guillermo also came to be known as a respected doctor in his neighborhood. Recognized for his willingness to always help, Guillermo was known to even help patients who could not pay. It was this sense of kindness and generosity that would lead him to becoming the strong patriarch that he is remembered as today. Throughout his life, Guillermo would come to be known by many names by those who loved and cared for him. To his church community he was the charismatic and lively “Mr. C.” A devout Born Again Christian, Guillermo’s dedication to the Lord showed in every aspect of his life, from his mission trips to distant countries like Guadalajara, England, the Philippines & Russia, to leading prayers at family gatherings. To his own children, he was lovingly given the nicknames “Sanford” and “MacGyver,” both after the popular television characters, one known for his tendency to see value in discarded objects, and the other for his ingenuitive problem solving skills.
