Don Valentine was a venture capitalist who concentrated on technology companies in the US. He is being considered as the "grandfather of Silicon Valley venture capital. Valentine was born on the 26th of June, 1932. He began his career as a sales engineer for less than a year before he moved on to Fairchild Semiconductor, where he built up the sales force for seven years. Valentine founder venture capital firm Sequoia capital in 1972. Since then, Sequoia invested in several technology companies such as Apple Inc., LSI Logic, Oracle Corporation, Cisco, Electronic Arts, Google, Youtube, and many others.
