Bill Waterhouse was an Australian bookmaker and businessman. Once known as the biggest bookie in the world, Bill Waterhouse started as a bookman's clerk in 1938. He has made bookmaking his fulltime career in 1954 after retiring from being a barrister in 1948. He rose to be reputed as the world's biggest bookmaker and gambler in 1968. He engaged in betting duels with some of the giant punters such as Frank Duvall, Filipe Ismael, and Ray Hopkins. He was dubbed as Big Bill and King of the Bookies.
