Zsolt was born April 4, in Sopron, Hungary to Gyula and Maria Vereczkey and was the older brother to Kinga Vereczkey. Zsolt attended SZOTE for medical school graduating in 1986 cum laude. He spent a few years practicing medicine in both Szeged and Budapest before immigrating to the United States for medical research. Most recently, he has worked as an Anesthesiologist at Hudson Valley Hospital Center for over ten years. Zsolt is survived by his daughter Nicole, with whom he spent a great deal of their time together taking advantage of travel opportunities, sharing an incredible love for arts, good food, the outdoors, and adventures of seeking new places to explore. Zsolt's energy and love of life was unmatched. Many friends remember the many school ski and bike trips he organized as well as his famous annual Sports Day. In the past few years, Zsolt greatly enjoyed playing tennis and was a captain of two USTA men's teams. In November they won third place at USTA Nationals. Survivors include his mother (Maria), father (Gyula), sister (Kinga), and daughter (Nikki). Zsolt was laid to rest in his hometown of Szeged, Hungary. A memorial service will be held in New York as soon as it is safe to do so.
