Family and friends
Claire Dendy I’ve known Billy for 40 year. He always watched out for myself and my family. He somehow magically appeared when we needed him. He found my elderly Aunt walking to Church from her hotel in the wrong direction. She let him give her a ride because he had Mardi Gras beads hanging from his rear view mirror, she thought they were rosary beads. On the ride, they discovered they were both going to my brothers wedding the next day. Bill had volunteered to take care of my elderly father who needed to be in a wheelchair. ? How did he know ?
When I called Alex today, he told me a funny story. He said that Bill’s first day of high school, a bully confronted him and they fought. After that, Bill found out where the bully lived and every morning cut him off and beat him up. Eventually the Bully stopped going to school. My son met a guy that was a couple grades ahead of Bill and he asked h...

Bill I hope you pull through cuz I know just how stubborn you can be. Thank you for everything you did for me. From helping around Bisbanos to all the things you fixed around the house I rented. You have always been there for me. I’m sorry we didn’t get to talk much or see each other lately. But every time I look around this house I see all the thi...
Thomas Terry Today is a tough day for myself and my family along with some very dear friends of my Uncle Billy (Bill) Laughlin. He passed this morning at 10 am after battling a number of illnesses. For those of you who were blessed enough to know him knew how selfless of a person he was. These last few weeks have been such a roller coaster of ups and downs. The one thing that has been consistent is the outpouring of love and support of his dear friends. So many of you have echoed what we all hold dear in our hearts, this is a man would give you the shirt off his back, and anything else he had on for that matter; a cliche that is often over used, but in Bill’s case is spot on. If anyone needed anything he was there, often uninvited. Lol. But that didn’t matter, Uncle Billy was there and he was going to jump in and lend a helping hand- In fact, that is what he was most known for. He spent every day tinkering with gadgets, patching holes in walls, wiring a ceiling fan, who knows what else. He would go so far as to try and teach a complete stranger how the inside of key lock worked.. all the while never asking for a single thing in return. I swear if he overheard someone say they needed a lamp shade he would have one in his truck, then go on to tell them the story behind this antique lamp shade to boot. Most people would tell you that he would often gift them with items that he overheard them saying they needed, it could have been a wine opener, door stop, garden hose, step stool..the list could go on and on. The fact is the man flat out spent his days striving to please others and help out anyone in need. I can only hope that my children, his niece and nephew, will carry on his unparalleled generosity and genuine good nature. We have been so comforted by the many stories and many have shared over the last few days, it truly means the world. Please continue to share those words here so they can be enjoyed and reread countless times by all those that hold him dear. I honestly didn’t realize how many people called him “Uncle Billy". This has made me so happy and proud. Thank you Uncle Billy for being MY Uncle and gifting your love as an Uncle to so many others. I love you.
