Melissa Bundy Truth was part of an accidental litter between a full blooded Boxer and a full-blooded Pointer. They had posted on craigslist but had taken the ad down. I called anyway and it turned out the person that was supposed to pick Truth up had been a no-show so I hopped in my car and when I got to the house, they let Truth in the room and she trotted over to me with no fear and put her paws on my lap. I fell in love with her immediately.
Melissa Bundy At around 6 months old I put Truth in the PetSmart training class. She hated it. In one exercise, I was advised to tell her to sit and turn my back on her to see if she would hold the sit even if I wasn't watching. Not only did she NOT hold the sit, she barked at me like "how dare you not look at me!" After several weeks of classes, she did graduate. During the ceremony, each dog had the graduation hat put on their head and Truth kept it on the longest. The instructor said "The worst behaved dogs always keep the hat on the longest." Future training sessions proved to be similar and at home she was known to comply with the letter of a command rather than the spirit. "Out of the kitchen!" and off she'd go just outside the door for maybe a minute before coming right back in.
I created this Timeline for Truth so I could capture mine and your memories of Truth.
