Family and friends
Tierney Kaufman Hutchins was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. She and her unborn child tragically passed away on Tuesday, July 14th due to a ruptured splenic artery aneurysm. Tierney made everyone’s lives better just by being a part of them. She was a bright light and loved by so many, especially her adoring husband, Jared, and 18 month old daughter, Melrose. ... more

Join MemoriesRachel Haus Though she was my cousin, I had never met Tierney before she came to my wedding along with her mom and dad. But there she was, the most beautiful, charming, self-possessed 15 year old I'd ever seen! I loved seeing her become a professional and then a wife and mother. I loved that we were family.
Lindsay Feldman Kozik One of many fun girls nights with Tierney. Such a beautiful soul - I know her legacy will live on through sweet Melrose 💖.
Janie Bush Tierney and I attended the grand opening of the Omni together. She thought these little sculptures on the wall of one suite were funny and faked pulling one off the wall.
Michael Osburn That time you both could pass for NFL sideline reporters...
Christine Leatherberry Loved watching these two tear up the dance floor at our wedding when Tierney wore that hot red dress.
Kristi Bare I had the pleasure of meeting Tierney when she first started at People newspapers. As a publicist - I had so many opportunities to chat with Tierney at my client events and we quickly became friends. After she left the paper, we kept in touch and I would of course see her at fun parties with her wonderful friends. I searched and searched through the many photos I have of Tierney from client events - hoping there might be one of the two of us - but came across so many of her and her friends instead- including this one of her and Jared while first dating I think - at An Affair of the Art benefiting the DMA. As always Tierney looked beautiful! Will truly miss my sweet friend - she was not only stunning but so fun and so smart. I think the last time we met was for coffee as I was seeking her counsel on something I was working on. Will always remember her smile - and a big hug she was always ready to give!
Corinne Carpenter Tierney was a beautiful bride and amazing friend. Jared and Tier’s wedding was a blast!
Rachel Osburn Tier, you were always up for fun! Here we were at a fashion show—your commentary had me in stitches.
H Dickie Tierney is a Trinity Chick – the tag for this group of women who came together with a purpose and were embodied with love, friendship, and support of one another's joys and challenges that far outreached the original mission. Tierney, you will always be with us. To Jared and Melrose, we send our love and support. Judy K, Melanie, Gail, Heather, Juliette, Janie, Amber, Judy S
Michael Osburn Always incredible spending time with you and Jared... one of my favorite couples... here’s one of many days of fun in the sun with you both.
Christine Leatherberry It was an honor to co-host Tierney’s baby shower for Melrose with so many of her wonderful friends.
Karen Obrien We had so much fun every year at the State Fair of Texas! Love you and miss you, Tierney!
Rachel Osburn Celebrating your 35th at the Mansion! Your eyes sparkled when you realized it was a surprise just for you. Usually you were the one making others feel special, this night Jared was able to put you in the spotlight.
Brian Tochman That time our kids started a scooter gang
Melissa Crosby Champagne tasting with Chet & Delphine! We could not stop laughing (and may have been slightly scolded 🥴) but had oh so much fun! Will think of you every time I hear a cork pop or sip champagne, Tier! 🥂🍾
Christine Leatherberry Will always remember the time four city slickers decided to brave a Groupon gun safety class, which was really just an excuse for us to dress the part. Tierney made friendship fun and reminded me why friendship should never be neglected.
Christine Leatherberry Will always cherish and remember wine tasting with Tierney in Napa. ♥️
Ryan Panno Tierney, we only met you 6 years ago but you gave Christie and I a lifetime worth of happy memories. Every minute we spent with you was a gift. From Cabo, to annual Napa trips, to Chicago, dinners out (before kids), and dinners at home (after kids) we only had good times with you and Jared and Melrose. I will never forget and still wonder how you had time to plan such great Napa trips and then send out a custom itinerary with all of our faces on some ridiculously skinny caricature bodies. You married my friend and I gained another true friend in you. We love you and miss you dearly.
Leslie Martin That time you were willing to get mud on your Louboutins to celebrate my wedding!
Leslie Martin The “Autumn Soirée” where you had a caricature artist. You truly were the “Hostess with the Mostess!”
Bina Patel You were the Carrie in our SATC crew. So amazing, popular, naturally chic and charming.
Jared Hutchins 5 mile hike at 28 weeks. You were truly tougher than anyone I’ve known
Christine Leatherberry Always up for a laugh, we enjoyed attending a comedy show with Tierney. Will always remember her laugh and cadence of her voice.
Merritt Russ Tierney was always supportive of others endeavors - especially when it involved champagne, like at this event (for my work) in 2016. We had a mutual adoration for good bubbly!
Christine Leatherberry Tierney was always up for something new. We shook up girls’ night out by going to Painting With a Twist and I think Tierney won for the best painting.
Allie Newman Tierney!! Why??? How?? This keeps playing over and over in my head. You will be missed by so many people. I’ve loved looking at your updates on social media of your cute family. I’m so proud of the life you’ve created. Tierney and I became fast friends in high school. She was the coolest freshmen and instantly became my little sister. She was always happy, down for an adventure and had the biggest smile. The only peace I can find is knowing that you are with your Dad ❤️ xo Allie
Shaelen Berry Tierney was my best friend. I think we were around 7 here. Id travel w her family to Catalina often where we’d stay at her uncle’s place. The shirts we’re wearing were from her aunt’s cute shop/coffee bar in town. We’d order mock, iced mochas with a lot of chocolate around the brim. Delphine would french braid or mermaid rope our hair in pig tails. This made me happy because my mom couldn't braid (sorry mom). Tierney’s hair was always really long, thick and beautiful. She was the prettiest in my eyes. Tierney had a guinea pig that she’d bring w/ us. We’d sit on the floor and touch our feet together, forming a diamond shaped arena with our legs and let the little thing run wild. The pig would squeal and make us scream which led to deep belly laughs after we realized how silly it was. We’d wake up to a beautiful spread of bagels and fruit lovingly set by Delphine in the mornings. We’d create our own dances, songs, plays and perform them to WHOEVER would be kind enough to watch. The pic above is an action shot of one of those Tony Award winning plays we created... We always had so much fun. ——- Its about 2am rn and Im up thinking about Tierney... I havent stopped thinking about her. I cant wait to sort through all of our old childhood / teen photos and share even tho its going to hurt. There’s so many beautiful memories with her and Ill cherish them in my heart forever. I love her so much.
I was Tierney's drama teacher in middle school. She was such a bright light onstage, so fun to be around. When we did "Broadway Babies" she wanted to do Tits and Ass from A Chorus Line. We may have gotten in trouble. I am so very sad for this lose too soon. May her memory always be a blessing.
