Ian Clendening Here Stu put down whichever huge tome on some historical event which few people even know broadest details on in order to read a book about a kids journey through a city.
Ian Clendening Stu was always a big draw for the kids. With a pocket full of Certs Breathmints this was often confused for candy which the kids would enjoy. It was great to have Heather and Stu visit us in Minden

Jacqui Kerr & Cameron Clendening Stuart Thomas Clendening, age 76, of Surrey, BC passed away Wednesday, February 9th 2022 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his wife, Heather Clendening; children Cameron (Jacqui) Clendening, Ian (Maggie) Clendening, Christine (Liam) O’Sullivan, & Jeff (Jamie) Lenz; brothers Al (Allyson) Clendening & Craig (Jayne) Clendening; sister Cathie (Kevin) Migneault; dog Bobbi; nieces and nephews, and ten loving grandchildren (Cohen, Clive, Arlo, Kai, Connor, Mairi, Mack, Hunter, Jaimeson, Piper). Stuart grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he graduated with a Degree in History from the University of Saskatchewan. Stuart was then accepted to law school at UBC but needed to earn money for the tuition, so Stuart found work in a diamond mine in NWT. Ultimately Stuart graduated from UBC Law School in 1970 and was called to the BC Bar in 1971. His work and marriage to his first wife, Sharon, brought them to Prince Rupert, BC which became the birthplace of their two sons, Cameron and Ian. After many years in that position, Stuart’s path changed course and he opened his own law firm to practice Real Estate Law. He also reunited with Heather, whom he met in his youth, got remarried and built a life surrounded by a large loving extended family. He remained dedicated to his law practice and family until his passing. Stuart could be described as a charismatic man; full of energy and personality, eccentric, complex, highly intelligent, and lovable. He had many interests which he loved to share with those around him including antique cars, sailing, politics, and anything that can go on a barbeque. In addition to the love for his family and his dog Bobbi, Stuart loved reading books on history, politics, and automobiles and was seldom without a book on such topics. Stuart found comfort in the nature of his part-time residence on Gabriola Island where he could be found when not at his Surrey office or his other ‘residence’ at Starbucks on King George. Stuart’s jovial nature touched many people who will miss him dearly.
