Stephen Paul (Steve) Bell
03 Dec 1952 - 22 Feb 2019Stephen Paul Mark Bell was born on 3 December 1952 in Hackney North, England. Late of Salamander Bay, NSW, Steve was 66 years old when he passed away on 22 February 2019. Steve was the loved Husband of Glenys, whom he married in 1978 and lived happily with for over 40 years, sharing the birth of his daughters Morgan Leigh in 1981 and Samantha Ann in 1983. In 2011, when Samantha married, Steve gained a son-in-law, Robert, and two step-grandchildren, Taylah and Lachlan. Steve was also brother-in-law to Colleen and John, brother to Linda and Elaine, Uncle to Courtney, Ashley, and Ainsley, and nephew to Paul and Mark. Steve is the son of the late Ann Bernadette White nee Gardner (d. 1997) of England and the late Samuel George Bell (d. 2012) of Ireland. He immigrated to Australia in 1958 and lived in Melbourne VIC during his formative years. Steve became a carpenter in 1967 and one of his greatest achievements was helping to rebuild Darwin after Cyclone Tracey hit in 1974. He joined the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade in 1976 and when his children started school he relocated to NSW and became a small business owner. As a father, husband, and friend, Steve was dependable, diligent, trustworthy, and strong. He was the type of man you could rely on in an emergency. He cared for nature and all the creatures of the earth. He was a dreamer with big ambitions, and he knew how to make you laugh. Rest in peace, Steve. You will be missed by all who knew you.
