Join MemoriesIf you encountered Stuart at Killara Fire Station or Hornsby Comms, you would see him driving his Subaru and perceive him as a friendly, neighbourhood firefighter. Stuart's humility meant that you might not know about his extensive commitment to making a difference through his involvement with the Law Council of Australia, Macquarie University Law Society and the Rural Fire Service. It was an honour to attend his funeral and learn more about his early life, particularly how his parents instilled in him the value of community service. Stuart had so much more to give, but he will be remembered by his friends and colleagues as a person of great strength, intelligence, humour, and selflessness, both in his daily life and in his positive approach to his illness. His legacy will endure in many lives, and although he will be greatly missed, his family can take pride in the impact he made. His values are undoubtedly instilled in his sons and will be passed on to future generations. I had so much respect for Stuart and send my sincere condolences to Narelle, Andrew, Richard, Annie and Catherine, and his extended family. RIP Stuart.
