Speak Up For What Is Right

After a year-long celebration of Music Changing Lives 22nd anniversary and the recent success of sustaining during a pandemic, the organization is working on a time capsule to commemorate the past year. The digital time capsule will be sealed during a special virtual dedication ceremony on Thursday, December 31st, at 5 pm and will be opened in the year 2038, on our 40th anniversary. In preparation for the time capsule, Music Changing Lives is asking parents alike to submit an essay or art piece about their life and experiences with music or art. Winners will be selected to have their essay/artwork placed in the digital time capsule. Music Changing Lives is also hosting a photo contest. Take a picture of what music and art represents to you, or a photo of your favorite place, and use the hashtag #ChangingLivesTimeCapsule. Winners will have their photographs placed in the time capsule. Finally, community members are invited to suggest possible items for inclusion in the actual time capsule. Suggested items must be small enough to fit in a rectangular box with interior dimensions of 18”x16”x9”. A committee will decide on the final items to be included. Suggestions can be emailed to Info@MusicChangingLives.org. Please include your name, phone number, and a brief statement of the item’s significance. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 11, 2020.
