Sok Bee Tiah

Sophie Sok Bee Tiah was the beloved mother of Ching Lee, Eng Ping, Edward Eng Chuan, Adrian Eng Soo, Lena Eng Ting, and James Eng Seong. She was a beautiful, vibrant, and strong woman who served as a midwife in our hometown of Selekoh, while our father was the headmaster of Hwa Nan Chinese School. She migrated to Australia in 1987, and helped with the care of her many grandchildren—Sey Ley, Sey Guan, Sey Ghi, Guan Seng, Guan Ming, Tim, Chris, Joshua, Jaeryl, Matthew, Olivia, Declan, Connor, Zachary, and Isabel. She will always be remembered for her cheerful smiles, friendliness, intelligence, words of wisdom, creativity, cooking prowess, as well as the way she took pride of herself, and her home. She will be sorely missed.
