So shocked and saddened to hear the sad news about Simone. I remember her well not only as my daughter's friend at Brodetsky PS and Sinai shul but also as a lovely, smiley, effervescent pupil in Y3, when I was lucky enough to be her teacher.

Miriam Pappworth Simone, was my childhood best friend. We first met at Sinai Shul Cheder where we quickly formed a close bond; and together were notorious for messing around and our chutzpah. She was my ‘Mona’ and I was her ‘Miri’. I later came to join her at Brodetsky Primary School and many of my fondest memories are of those days. I’ve never laughed with someone as much as I laughed with Simone, often this would get us into trouble but her hilarity seemed to just be so infectious. Over the last few days, since hearing the tragic news of Simone’s passing I have been reminiscing back on those times, when we would sing along to mmm-bop (Hanson being our fav band), make up many of our own often eccentric songs, pratting about in table tennis club, drawing cartoons, the time Simone brought a newt into school, nearly falling out of a ride at the 4th of July fair are just some of those moments… Simone’s warmth and energy was so radiant and she was loved by many friends (blessed to have her strong group of girlfriends in Lydia, Jodie, Camille and Amelia) and of course her wonderful family. I’m sad that after our lives took different paths, I never got to say goodbye in person but I am beyond grateful to have spent those years with Simone and for those wonderful times we shared. Wishing long life to all Simone’s family from all the Pappworth clan. She will never be forgotten. (I wanted to try and dig out an old school pic but not managed to yet - for now here is us 10 years ago when we went for a ‘photo shoot’ in Manchester for the day - Simone of course was always so photogenic!!) + this little gem of us girls aged around 11, taken in a photo booth on our first trip out to the white rose shopping centre on our own - we felt so grown up!

I wouldn’t be the person I am today without knowing Simone. Thanks for the memories. Shine bright little neb ❤️

Sasha Hawkes Sim came to stay in my new London flat in Keyes Rd. I remember her party spirit exploding that weekend, she drank more vodka with her friends in one night than I could in a week - even in my mid-20s! She was a fresh faced just turned 19 year old xxx

Lucy Bailey Betty you came into my life through madders and just brought with you joy, and light and laughter and fun. I'm so so glad we got our holidays together. I've not quite managed to watch our kitchen lip sync videos yet but I will treasure them forever, I always could just be the best and most fun version of myself with you. Thank you for being there for me when I needed a friend. You were so so special to me and I've lost a kindred spirit. You meant so much to so many. Love you mate x

Sasha H. This is just so lovely Lucy. Would love to see one of those lip synch videos too! X

Simone was not only my sisters friend at primary school but also my cheeky pupil at Cheder and the pair of them kept me on my toes there! She was always full of fun and life and had the loveliest smile. After moving back to Leeds I was lucky enough to meet up with Simone and her friends through my sister, it was lovely to see what lovely women they...

Sasha Hawkes Such a beautiful photo, so like her paternal grandma Kitty.

I am lucky to have so many memories of Simone, too many to mention. She was one of a kind. It’s common for people to say stuff like that after someone’s passed but she really, really was. There was always something about her that drew me to her and I could never put my finger on it. I take peace in the fact that I know I’ll never lose the ability t...
