Brenda Ferguson One of my favorite pictures of her. They were so in love! (I don't know the year, really, but the guess is 1980's)

Robin Lindy I have lots of memories that don't come with pictures of Mom, mostly because Mom was the photographer (as evidenced by this photo), always wanting to capture precious memories. But sometimes it's the simple memories around the home that stick out to me the most, not ones we would have ever thought to take a picture of: I remember going to Mom to get an answer to something I didn't understand, hugging her at the kitchen sink, helping her can fruit by screwing on the lids, marveling at how she took a tough cut of beef and cooked it into a delicious dinner, teaching us how to crank the ice cream maker, and making us root beer floats with Fizz-Nik Instant Ice Cream Float Balls (you can still find them online). Mom nursed us through measles, mumps, chicken pox, and other childhood sicknesses and injuries. She also sewed most of our clothes. Her favorite Peanuts character was Snoopy, so she bought a beagle and we had two litters of beagle puppies to play with. Mom also instilled within all four of her children a sense of humor, fun, and adventure. She loved to travel and always took us with her. She was fearless in camping with a carload of kids, taking us around the Olympic Peninsula with her mom, driving to Washington and Oregon beaches, sometimes with her friend and her two kids, making that six kids in the back of a station wagon. I especially remember the snowy trips over White Pass to see Grandma every Christmas. Mom dealt with loose car chains chewing a hole in the trunk of our car, spinning out on an ice-covered road and never displaying fear or disappointment; they were all "whoa!" moments that we dealt with together and kept on going. She could also change a flat tire in minutes by herself. And as we kids grew, married, and had our own children, she loved having us and the grandkids over to her house where she kept a chest of dress up clothes, toys, and games. She'd filled her bookshelves with books she loved reading to her grandkids. Mom absolutely loved the impromptu plays her grandkids concocted and performed in her living room throughout the years. We all clapped and cheered, but Mom clapped and cheered the loudest. And a tradition formed as Mom hosted yearly Christmas concerts with us and our children playing instruments and singing carols. Then as great grandchildren came into her life, she held them, read to them, played with them and laughed with them. She loved to just sit and listen to children read to her. We all miss Mom, very much, her love and hugs, her smiles and laughter.

Brenda Ferguson I was so glad to be able to find such great video footage of Grandma to share. Starting from her in seventh grade, including various old Hensley family reels of her as a teenager, to more recent family footage, ending with a particularly fun Christmas time in 2006. Enjoy!

Kelly W. Oh that is so precious!!!!
Rod H. Wonderful memories of Sharon...Well done Rod

Norman Hensley I am second cousin to Sharon, sharing same great grandfather Alex Hensley. Even though coming from Illinois to school at UW I did not get to know Sharon until much later. One year she invited me to the Hensley reunion at Marty's place. So enjoyed her sense of humor, love of reading and political interest. and of course photos. Norman Hensley

Sheryl Carvalho I will always cherish my friendship with Sharon. She was not only my mother-in-law, but also a confidant. When frustrated, weary, happy, or successful...I could go to Sharon and express myself honestly. She was such a good listener to me. I will always be grateful for her friendship. And books...I wish I would've written down the titles of all the wonderful books she has recommended to me, stories that gave me such enjoyment to read: The #1 Ladies Detective Agency, The Guernsey Literary Potato Peel Pie Society and so many more. I am grateful for the sharing of books between Sharon and I. And of course, the family celebrations at holidays and birthdays. She shared the highlights and routines of our five children while they were growing up. She was always part of our family's life. I am grateful for the support and love she showed to all of us. I love Sharon. I miss her. I will treasure our friendship and memories. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful mother-in-law.

Brenda F. Love this picture! I remember those mustaches, haha.

Robin Lindy Sharon O’Hearn passed away peacefully after contracting Covid-19 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred, and is survived by her loving children Robin, Gary, Jeff and Phil, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, her brother Rod and sister Carolyn. Sharon’s love of children inspired her to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher and librarian. Photography, music, creating handcrafts and art, and a love of the outdoors and family filled her life. Her greatest joys were taking her four children on camping trips, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, visiting with her friends, and traveling around the country with her husband in their VW Van. Donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to www.all.org.

Phil Carvalho Our Mom loved pictures. She loved taking them, she loved looking at them, she loved collecting them and putting them in countless albums for herself and her kids. She chronicled our lives in pictures so we could look back whenever we wanted, to relive and remember who we were and where we came from. Let me be absolutely clear, our Mom cherished pictures. Thankfully, over her 90 years, the camera loved her as much as she loved the camera. Being a woman with a terrific smile, who was always ready to pose, certainly made this project a whole lot easier. Mostly though, putting together this string of pictures, was pure joy. So please enjoy this brief chronicle of a life lived well, filled with love, family, friends, travel, adventure and the simple moments that reflect who she was and will always be to our family. Thank you, Mom, for all the unforgettable times, and for smiling so much. We miss you.

Brenda F. Beautiful words, Uncle Phil. And a beautiful job with this photo montage. Thank you for this.
Norman H. Great production. I have added a memory
