Mark Trott I wanted to share some lessons I learned from Sarah, through one of her biggest passions: backpacking the Wonderland trail. There’s some pictures along the way, hopefully the lessons correlate well enough :) 1) You may not be able to carry someone through their journey, but you can help carry their stuff if it helps them reach the goal! 2) If you see a bear cub by the trail, make sure you don’t cross between it and Mama bear! 3) Your accomplishments are never solely your own. We’ve always had a team supporting us and launching our future. (It’s more fun and fulfilling to embrace all who are a part of your successes anyway!) 4) Never start an expedition in brand new boots, break them in! (Also, Sarah didn’t always follow her own rules) 5) With the right gear and know how, you can survive a storm, but your hair may not fair so well :)
Ernie Fraser Sarah - thinking again about you and lots in recent days. These reflections always take me to the incredible times we had in the mountains - physically demanding, rich and deep conversation, and laughter. You always took good care of us. Miss you and love you!
Debbie Wagner-Hart So many memories with my Hawaiian “roomie” So much love for Sarah 💗 so she was with me when I got that tattoo. She got the hummingbird for her cousin and mine was a cover up. I told Matt The tattoo artist I don’t want it big, I don’t want leaves and he drew this out and it was beautiful and Sarah sat with me and chatted my way through the pain.
Katie Thrush Oh how I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of the two of us the last time I saw you, but our memories are full- this is how we met in highschool in the weight room, so many awesome memories together competing and lifting and my dad was so proud of you and happy he was able to coach you through your highschool career and even after for a short bit! You were incredibly strong from the beginning, I’ve always looked up to you, Love you Sarah! Heaven gained someone special and to Steve, Debbie and the rest of the Trott family many prayers and comfort!
I was fortunate enough to know Sarah through our time at MJ together....I spoke fairly often via messenger and I absolutely adored her. I loved her tenacity and wild spirit. I remember talking her off the ledge many times as she faced so much adversity wirh her house at the beginning....what an amazing transformation! Her and her tribe ripped that...
Brittany Reinbold I met Sarah working with ETNIA Barcelona. We met in Spain originally but weren’t cast as roommates until Vegas. I usually run on the colder side and Sarah hot. So you could imagine how impressed she was when she finally got to our room after dragging her luggage to a complete different hotel to set up frames at the show and back (sweating her arse off) only to open the door of our room to find me with the AC off, farting up the room watching Harry Potter in my Pajamas....not very I’d say. LOL I’m happy to say that she quickly forgave me and we went on the become buddy pals that weekend. We just clicked and from then on always sat together at meetings, dinners and anything else ETNIA. We were 2 kindred spirits and when I asked her to help me set up a make shift limbo station at the end of a trade show, of course she didn’t hesitate for one second! Sarah was such a fun and real person. I recently received a baby gift in the mail for my son arriving in September in which I never even got the chance to thank her. So thank you Sarah for thinking of me, Warren and Thor. I will miss you. I will miss our friendship. Fly free My friend. ❤️
My favorite memory of Sarah is from when I worked with her at Trotter's. We were in the back, slicing and chopping up food, and chatting as we did. She was telling me about how much fun she had had cliff jumping. My immediate thought, (which I shared with her,) was, "If everybody else jumped off a cliff, would YOU?" She saw the humor in it, but...

Ernie Fraser Sarah and I have know each other since 2004 when she was a guide on one of my mountain treks on the coast of B.C. That was the first of four mountain treks we took together and the start of a wonderful friendship. My daughter joined one of those treks, which lead to her and Sarah also becoming friends. A year or two later, my daughter and I traveled from Victoria to the Seattle area and the highlight of that trip was spending time with Sarah and meeting her parents at Trotter's Restaurant in Auburn (south of Seattle). Over the following years, Sarah and I stayed in regular contact through phone calls and other means of communication, and would occasionally see other at gatherings of shared friends. I remember many long phone conversations about an array of things including some of the challenges that life was throwing at both of us. Those were rich discussions that fed our souls and benefitted both of us. I will be forever grateful for our friendship. Mary Oliver finishes one of her poems with these words: “When it’s over, I don’t want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument. I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.” I can say without any hesitation that Sarah fully lived life here on earth and I am confident she is doing the same in heaven! Throughout the entire period of her cancer treatment Sarah found great joy in her family and friends, and spontaneous adventures to two of her special places - Hawaii and Cannon Beach. Sarah inspired so many of us with her spirit, generous heart, positivity and zest for life. She embraced life in a HUGE way! On those mountain treks, Sarah was a quiet and strong leader - she took care of us, sometimes in severe weather conditions and always with love! Sarah gave us a wonderful model of how to live regardless of the circumstances! ❤️ ❤️
