Sandra Dee was an American actress who departed this life at the age of 62 due to kidney disease. She is best known for her roles in the movies, "The Reluctant Debutante," "Imitation of Life," "A Summer Place" and "Gidget." She was a professional model at the age of four. Born 1942 in Bayonne, New Jersey, Dee won for "New Star of the Year - Actress" Golden Globe Award for the film, "Until They Sail" in 1957. The next year, Dee appeared as Rex Harrison's daughter in the movie, "The Reluctant Debutante." In 1959, she starred in the comedy film, "Gidget" alongside James Darren and Cliff Robertson and became a star. Dee won a Golden Globe Award in 1959 as one of the year's most promising newcomers. That same year she starred in “A Summer Place.” In 1963 she played Tammy in the comedy romance, "Tammy and the Doctor." She later played "Tammy" in two Universal sequels to “Tammy and the Bachelor.” She appeared in TV series, "The Sixth Sense" beginning in 1972. After she passed, she was interred in the Forest Law
