Conor Savage Mum and dad left me to Dublin airport. We didn’t say much in the car, I don’t think we really knew what to say. We all got pretty emotional when I got out of the car. I forgot to give mum her Mother’s Day card.

Conor Savage Arrived in CT. sun was splitting the skies, looked like a typical tourist. Phone wouldn’t work. Had to hail a dodgy metered taxi, thankfully I arrived in one piece. Met Saph, should have given her a hug. B and Danny came home and we had lunch together, it was super nice. They are really great peeps

Conor Savage My first ride home from town, I stupidly sat at the back of the taxi, while Everyone else piled in on top of me. Pretty sure some kid was sitting on top of me. Driver shouts back ‘oye white boy come sit up here with me’ as much as I was happy at the back he pushed me to come join him. Squeezing me in between three hand selected pretty ladies and then requested that I take my pick of the fine woman.

Conor Savage Went for a surf with Dan at Muizy. I borrowed a board from his cousin. Met Jonas and his sisters. Pretty hung over after a loose night, I was rather unsuccessful to say the least

Conor Savage Went with a crowd of students to Mweni Youth Club, probably one of the poorest parts of town I visited. Kids were flipping class, they put on a percussion show and also some incredible dancing. These two were actually insane

Conor Savage Went camping with Saph to Kogelbaii. Cracked on the campfire and had some chubby toasties. Saph had to go for a pee 50 times during the night. Thankfully woke me up for these incredible scenes. Saturday we did a wee coastal drive to Pringlebaii, bought the worst frisbee in a second hand store. Driving back Saph was out for the count. Drove through some dodgy township, pretty sure I saw some bloke running down the road with a rifle.

Conor Savage Scott organised a Gender Equality workshop for the boys at UCT, invited me along. It was a really interesting session, we got to hear about the real underlying issues with gender in Cape Town.

Conor Savage Benny came to town for a week. Hired some mtb and headed to Tokai, place was invaded by Baboons, met the baboon eradication team. Chucked the speaker in, banged on some Jai Paul and hit the trails. Poor Benny, wasnt awfully confident and was looking a little wore for wear by the end. Saw a chubby baboon perched on top of a solitary tree, was pretty entertaining

Conor Savage Benny got his own back after the mtb. Got the sandboards out and hit some big old dunes. Benny adopted the isis look to eradicate sand eye. I literally could not sand up for more than 3 seconds. Ended up going down pretty hard and was in bad old shape!

Conor Savage Final mtn mission before Daniel left town. Left my house at 4am, headed up Skeleton in the pitch black, was pretty gnarly, thankfully we didnt end up in the waterfall. Up table mountain by 6, still pitch black, wind howling at the dams was pretty entertaining. Back down Kasteelsport and over in time for Parkrun. Ended up doing parkrun with our mountain packs on, looks pretty rediculous. Chopped a Doughsant to finish things off

Conor Savage Took Dan on his first 'mountain mission' set off for the shipwreck and then decided to head up and over suther peak and back to the car. Stuck in some wild bushes for about two hours, sun went down, stars came out, phone battery died and dan got a little worried. Thankfully we got up to suther and could see the lights of the car guard. Once we got to the car park, car guard was still there, we gave him and lift into town and got him a bottle of coke

Conor Savage Stopped off in Mesuru for some chicken. Neither of our phones working. Borrowed some random punters phone, called our air bnb. Set off in the car, got dark completely missed our accom, realised 2 hours late. Wild roads, no lights, burnt out cars, shepherds with their sheep. Ended up at the border approx 1am, gates didn’t open until 8am, ended up kipping in the boot

Conor Savage Keegs and Darren picked me up at a tennis match. Went down to stay at Keegs place in Hawston. Had a beauty of a braii and too much to drink. Keegan told me about the illeagal fishing trade taking place, causing a lot of crime in the area, we heard gunshots shortly after. I went for an unreal run around Fernkloof the morning after, met the boys at a shopping mall. SA just won the semi of the World Cup

Conor Savage BGS rugby came to town. Millhead and I went to watch them play a game, solid match just got pipped. On the bus on the way back, gave a riling speech about how the boys should look up to us as role models. Ended up meeting up with the teachers in town, DK paid for a meal and drinks, ended up going back to the hotel, DK got absolutely and told us about getting a the night before. Ended up bagging two tickets for Zip line in Hottentots. Went and joined them the next day. Was pure jokes, although DK ... into one of the leaders at the end of the line and we think one of the staff might have broken his leg, was pretty wild.

Back down platters, met some bloke at 6am, he was gutted, thought he was the first up TM in 2020. Afraid not pal. Didn’t do devils was pretty knackered

Dan invited me round to his mates place for a braii. Met Kim and ... some boy was absolutely off his chops on the roof next door, was very entertaining. Ended up heading into town with Dan and Kim. Don’t know how I got home

Conor Savage Mike was up in Stelly coaching the ladies in some friendlies against Ireland. Met him on his day off and we had a rad victory lap around Mont Rochelle. Mike took a video of me wishing the SA ladies luck to take on ireland tomorrow. I want to be more like Mike, he is a beast

Conor Savage 13 Peakos! What a rad mission. Kicked things off in the cooking sun with Galen. Met Keegan’s at the bottom of Platters. Abso cooked, got some ice and water on board. Made it across the table, Galen was chundering and pulled the plug at Suikerbossie. Hooked up with Julie and Brode. Julie was an abso hero with drinks and choc. Up LLH for Sunset, Suther was pretty sketch in the dark. Through HB and stopped for some snacks at the garage. Shaf and JJ rocked up which was unreal! Headed on towards crappies with Dale, pace slowed pretty bad towards Noordhoek Pk. Met Seth at Silvermine car park. Some boys snoozing at Muizy Pk, pretty nuts. Security flashing their light telling us to get off the mtn. Made it back through silvermine, got extremely slow, Dale left us at the bottom of Const. Seth was a hero and pushed me up Const. was feeling pretty rotters. Slow plod and made it to Vlakkenberg, Dan and Kim came to meet us with the pup. Julie sent out the search party as I was very late. Made it to Constantia Nek. Dan rolled up in his wagon, I kipped in the back for a couple of hours. Tried to push on with Julie, but ended up pulling the plug. Got pretty emosh in the Ube, couldn’t believe how many people came out for the ride!

Feel asleep and woke up in the middle of the night, felt really weird, went to the hospital for a check up. Pretty sure it was a panic attack.

Half way down I gave Brode one of my tyres, thought it would help him Out. They left at newlands I finished Devils and Signal. What a way to top things off
