Vanessa Hollis This is one of the journals of many Roz gave me throughout the years. Each of her signatures would have the word JOY. Which I always thought was fitting for her. A woman of faith. She will be missed. May she rest in heaven. Forever in my heart. - Vanessa

Today I honor and celebrate your deep commitment to loving and serving others, your awesome sense of humor, the way you kept it real, your incredible generosity, and your profound ability to always have JOY in your heart and to share it with others. I love you to the moon and back and miss you tremendously.

Jason Brown Thank you Roz for all that you have done for me and a lot of others that you’ve graced with your prescience and Joy. You helped me get over plenty of bumps on the road, motivated me to accomplish many goals, and always reminded me to keep God first. I’m going to miss your sound advice and the laughs we shared. Also thank you for putting me on those boudain kolaches! 😊

Tara Hall Brzozowski The world is less bright without the joy you brought to every interaction. I’ll never forget your smile, your laugh, your quick wit and contagious spirit. You blessed me with precious nuggets of wisdom that I’ve carried with me through life. Love you, Roz.

Roz would always give me a book for me to journal in. I wanted to share her signature to me with you. "Vanessa, may your days be filled with many moments of JOY, peace and contentment. In each of my journals she would always include JOY. She will truly be missed. Vanessa (RGC).

Roz always had such a comforting presence. I started at ACC back in 2008 at the Rio Grande campus. We worked together there until I moved on to HBC in 2016. Three years later, about two weeks after my new post at EVC, I saw her walking out to her car and we realized neither of us knew the other was at the same campus again. We exchanged hugs and I ...

Jason Brown Thank you for the devotional book that you got me for my graduation. I still try to read it every morning.

Roz was truly an "original". I remember my earliest Ridgeview days in the early 1980's when Roz helped me on many occasions as I was learning how to work with students in the Human Development department. She was as gracious, kind, and supportive to me as she was to the students whom she helped. I continued to feel that support up until I retired s...

Roz was the ultimate champion of joy, the sage mama bear to so many of us, and an all-around gem of a human. I will miss her unparalleled strength, wonderful sense of humor, and deep caring for each of her friends, family members, colleagues and students. I'm grateful for the meaningful conversations we've shared through the years, ones marked by h...

Ms. Roz was one of my golden girls at RGC. She and I could talk about anything coming and going at RGC and EVC. Ms. Roz was definitely a remarkable strong Queen who I am going to miss dearly. Ms. Roz lifted my spirits on many occasions when I just didn’t feel like being at work. She would always tell me it could be worse. We would always laugh and ...

Roz was such a dear friend to me, one of the kindest and wisest people I met at ACC, and such a role model for her colleagues and students. She helped me find answers many times, and always left me feeling special and loved any time I needed her help. I never thought we would have to say good bye so soon. I loved her very much, and I am thankful fo...

Roz was such a calming person to talk with. I really enjoyed seeing her. Each day that I worked with her, she helped me create a sense of peace throughout my day. Rest in peace, Roz.

Roz was there at NRG when I began my career at ACC some 22 years ago. She was part of an outstanding counseling team, which included Emma Moore, Linda Moeller, Dr. Alvarez, Randy Mott, Marshall Levett, Joanne Keeley, and Amber Kelley. Roz was friendly, kind , had a great wit and a wonderful smile. We became friends quickly. She was such a professio...

Roz exuded the Joy of the Lord. I appreciated her sweet Christian spirit and the joy she not only wore on her lapel, but in her heart. The Lord bless her.

    Wade Bradfute13 Apr 2020

When I think about Roz, so many wonderful qualities come to mind: caring, authentic, fiery, funny, hard-working, sharp, servant-leader, humble, an all-around class act, and a true Christian. Some people throw around their knowledge or piety, but Roz lived it...EVERY single day in her words and actions. So many conversations are playing back in my ...

When I remember Roz I think, Joy, Fun, a Friend, and always Stylish. The World has lost a bright light but she lives on with all of us who knew and loved her.

One of my favorite memories from ACC is when, following General Assembly comments I delivered as President, Rosalind came up to me and said, “Don’t ever wear that jacket again.” I laughed and said that it was stylish (is that even possible for blue and white striped seersucker??) and Ros countered, “you don’t look like a president in that, you loo...

Sharon Goh This might be that infamous seersucker jacket. We could always count on Roz to tell it like it is even as she took us under her wing and helped us view the world through her JOY lens. My heart is full thinking of all the memories and lessons I've learned from her.

Janet Fontenette Roz was a collector of things that represented “Joy.” Seeing such an item and purchasing it for her was one of my favorite things to do. She appreciated these type of things I and many others gave her. I will miss doing special things like that because it brought her to mind each time. I will still think of her each time I see such items.

Roz spread joy wherever she went. Not just because of what she said, or what she did, but because of who she was. I first met Roz in 1989, and we both worked at Northridge and Rio Grande. It's hard to cram so many years of friendship into a short paragraph. Besides saying JOY JOY JOY, she often reminded everyone, don't let anyone take your joy awa...
