Family and friends
Hi everyone, This is a memorial page for the late Rolland Iriarte (Aug 1982- Feb 2021) Please share memories you have with him on here. We’re hoping to make it in to a physical book one day and hoping to be able to one day pass it on to his children so they are able to see the love we all had for their father. Please also don’t feel that you have to write paragraphs. Long or short memories;... more

Join MemoriesJust two days before we lost you, you came into the office and you had on such a lovely light grey jumper. I almost told you how nice it was but I didn’t. You told me to cancel your clinic activity for a date in April for your exams. We were excited to be having you in our team longer. Then came the awful news.
Elaine Frearson Dear Rolland, you truly are one of a kind to us. A beautiful soul with the kindest heart that really brought our Garth family to life. You inspired me in how you approached those difficult moments at work and with everyday life. Our memories of laughter and joy I will treasure forever. Rest in paradise my friend x Elaine x

Mónica Motta I hate that I don’t have a good picture of us together... but I guess it’s because we were busy fighting each other all the time. You know how annoying you were while I was growing up, how you would bother me all the time and send me to you do favors. Well, guess what? Now I do the same with my little brother, and I remember you as the most important person in my childhood. You will always be!!! My promise for you is to make sure that your family, my little cousins, to know how amazing you were, how you used to take forever to take a shower, how you used to leave candy paper hidden all over the house, but specially how much you love them. Yes, you love them because we know you still do. ... Se le fue!! 🤏🏼👌🏼 A, I love you. I forgive you... and please forgive me.
Carolina Tanner Alejo- I will never forget the best weeks of us together. So much laughter and joy. My heart is heartbroken with your absence.... I have faith that our souls will meet again. I love you and will continue to do so until my last breath. - Your cousin.
Paula Gonzalez The last time I have seen Rolland in London was back in 2009..I remember that he recently graduated and was applying for a job in London and he told me on this day that he was going for an interview so Rolland came to visited me and we had lunch together. I will always remember his smile, his sense of humour, we were listening to music and I recalled that on that day there was a song he said that he loved the song “somewhere over the rainbow” every time I heard this song I remember you Alejo... Rolland meant so much to those around him, impacted everyone with his smile and love. Despite being such a senior leader on the ward he greeted and bonded with everyone across the wards, welcoming ideas and discussions. A true gent, don’t think I’ll meet anyone quite like him, a genuine amigo. It is heartwarming to see how many lives he has positiv...
If I was asked what is the worst thing that happened during the peak of Covid. Although there were many hard things . Losing a beautiful person like you sticks out the most. I'm so grateful that I got to meet yo...
Rolland was my hero! An amazing doctor, funny, charming, kind and always there for you. Everybody loved him whether they were staff, relatives or patients – in particular the older ladies! Holly Hutchison I think this might be the only picture that I have of us together, but I love it now, even though we are standing in front of a big toilet sign. There are big smiles behind the masks.
Rolland was one of the kindest sweetest doctors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

Jo Coyle What a wonderful doctor, person and colleague. He held the hands of patients and really listened to them and showed true empathy with no matter of background or status he gave everyone the same care and attention. The patients loved you as did we all. Our team just isn’t the same without you and we will always remember you so very fondly. I always looked up to your clinical knowledge in the hope that one day I could be half the professional you were. Thank you for teaching me and I am honoured to have worked with you. You will never be forgotten xxx
