Rodney Dangerfield aka Jacob Rodney Cohen was an American comedian and actor. He is well known for the comedy films such as "Easy Money," "Caddyshack," and "Back to School." He started out as a stand-up comic and whose fame skyrocketed when he appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show" as a last-minute replacement for another act. Born 1921 in Deer Park, Babylon, New York, Dangerfield performed as a stand-up comic at different hotels in the Catskill Mountains in the early 1960's. However, he became famous when he was chosen as a last minute replacement for another act in "The Ed Sullivan Show" in 1967. The next year, he was a regular on "The Dean Martin Show." In 1969, he founded the "Dangerfield's comedy club which ran for 40 years. In 1980, he won a Grammy Award for his comedy album, "No Respect."
