Some of the most enduring memories are of being on holiday in mount Maunganui and being allowed to sleep in the bunk room with Robin, who read stories to me and also played with me on the beautiful mount beach nearby. There was a moment when we stopped on the way down for a piece of bacon and egg pie, one of her Mums signature dishes - we had one o...
Tim Barnett Robin with Jenny, Penny and Matthew at Mount Maunganui
(Posted with permission from my cousin Mark Abernethy) : I’ve got such a vivid memory as a kid driving all the way from Canberra with my dad John, Winnie, Joanna, and Leah perhaps as a baby to come to Robin and Richards wedding at the Wayside Chapel. She and you Richard seemed so genuinely happy and the lightness and joy from her was, and still i...
Margaret Donnan This is where Robin & I met - when we worked together at Eagle & Globe Steel Co. Here, we're at a farewell for 'my then boss' George Ward - our Chief Accountant ... probably about 1973/74? Robin was such a lovely person to work with and I'm so pleased that I had the privilege & pleasure to spend those years working with her. Lots of great memories were made while working at E&G ..... the list could go on & on!!!

Alan & Lis Quinlan Robin loved all animals not just her cats
Sean Windsor (Posted via Linley Hindmarsh) : My first memory of Robin is when we stayed with Robin and Richard in 1982. She was such a darling, my mother Judy (best friend Christine Abernethy) had known her as a little girl, and adored her. Robin was so intelligent, with a great love of music and public service, and wonderful at organising things, but had the odd moment of vagueness about punctuality! I can remember we were all in the car about to head off somewhere, and..."Where's Robin?" "Oh," said Richard, calm as ever, "She's just popped back inside to wash her hair." 😂 Not only did she love animals, but she was also absolutely wonderful with children, and looked after our son Fred when he was little. She was a sweet gentle person, and we all loved her.

One of my earliest memories of meeting Robin was approximately in 1973. Someone arranged a Friday evening after work staff drinks at a bar in the MLC Centre off Martin Place. As we were walking back down Martin Place to go to the carpark I made some comment and Richard said to Robin “Go bight him on the bum” and she bent down and did so. We jo...
I met Robin when our children were at Wee Care so our families have been friends all that time. Over the years there would have been plenty of shared activities: children's birthday parties on Bronte Beach, backyard bbqs, many years subscribing to the SSO and Ensemble Theatre, girls shopping trips, dining out etc and even sharing the same hairdres...

Richard, Sean and Family Any time we hear the tune of the 1958 song titled "Rockin Robin" our minds automatically think of your Robin. The lyrics in our minds describe Robins approach to life, in general, to a "T". Happy Go Lucky, cheerful, full of life, and thinking of communicating with others and always with bright smile and sparkling eyes. Rob...
