Robert “Bob” McClain, age 78, passed away on December 23, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Dallas Texas. He was born in Homestead Pennsylvania and was the eighth of ten children. Bob was a generous man, larger than life, and truly one of a kind. He approached life with energy, determination, and an open heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army Special Forces, 5th Special Forces Group. He won a Bronze Star Medal for heroism in Viet Nam. His service reflected his courage, leadership, and commitment to excellence—qualities that carried through every chapter of his life. He pursued higher education at Santa Monica Junior College and later at California State University, Northridge. After graduating, Bob began his professional career at Arthur Andersen, earning his CPA. He went on to become the Chief Financial Officer for several companies, where he was respected for his sharp intellect, integrity, and steady leadership. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Bob was an avid competitor who enjoyed pushing his limits. He participated in races, marathons, and triathlons, finding joy and fulfillment in both the physical and mental challenges they presented. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lois McClain; his daughter, Meghan McClain Wilson, and his son, Paul McClain. Bob is also survived by his two step-children, Tracy Owens and Andy Sugden. He had 3 grandchildren who called him GrandBob and they have fond memories of him making them laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. In lieu of a formal service, this website will serve as Bob’s memorial. Family and friends are invited to share photographs, memories, and stories celebrating Bob’s extraordinary life. Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
