Patricia Kingdom Psalm 148 one of Father Wilf's favourites - it is printed on the back of Ron Pratt's lithograph. Yes! we will pray for you Father Wilf and may you rest in peace with your Lord.
My recollection of Fr Wilf was as a young altar server back in the early sixties. He was a most placid man who always had time for a chat. I also recall him visiting our home often accompanied by his infamous panama hat and enjoying a morning tea which our dear Mum had prepared. He was a beautiful soul who exemplified priesthood now in God's care....

Fr Wilf ('Plunkie') was a man of and for the people. He combined dignity with the common touch. A true pastor. His caring for people was especially exemplified by his support for Family Groups. Much loved and much missed. Paul and Margaret Casey
Thinking and praying for all our Kooringal friends at the passing of this man of the people. We remember a story of him attending several separate Family Group functions on the same day - just popping in to be with his people. He was a generous and wise man of faith. Elizabeth and Dennis Farrar
On behalf of myself and my parents Kevin and Norma McCabe, now gone from this life and long term parishioners of Sacred Heart and friends of 'plunky' I'd like to offer my condolences to his family both familial and religious. He came to Wagga, shook things up, invited people in and his authenticity and realness of faith touched the lives of many. H...
Susan RM Father Plunkett showed the Redden family many kindnesses over many years. We saw him every week at Mass at Sacred Heart, but would also pop round for spaghetti and a glass of red, or bowl a couple of overs with the kids. He was a constant in our lives and for thousands of others. If only more leaders or all kind were like him. Rest easy and thank you.
Many thanks for the good times - Phil Lane - son on Matt and Sheila
Dear Plunk, We love you! God has you in His keeping, but you will always be in our hearts. It has been an honour to know you, a true Christian, and a really good man. Pat & Penny Reardon
Fr Plunkett - a true servant of God and a great man. A wonderful man and a real "priest of the people". Vale, Plunkie! From Catherine and Barry Malone.

Words cannot express what Father Plunkett meant to the Ryan & Woodhouse family. He was always there, An extension of us as a family and how we lead our lives in faith and humility for all people. The Ryan family was one of first families at the Sacred heart School. I myself walked through the Scared Heart parish with Father as it was getting b...
Megan Narouz Farewell Fr Plunkett you will live on in our hearts. Your last journey down Plunkett Drive. Love from the Mater Dei Catholic College Community.
What a real Christian Fr Plunkett was, always the same to everyone - thank you Fr. It was a privilege to have known you. Fr supported my family over three generations. He baptised my niece and nephew and then buried David after the horrific Bali bombing. In more recent years my niece has brought her two boys to Wagga for their baptisms by Fr.
Our deepest sympathy to the family members of Fr Plunkett and his fellow clergy. Have known Plunkie since 1956, then PP at Coleambally and then here in Wagga. A truly Christian man. RIP
Mick Lane Fr Plunkett, you have been an important part of the Lane family for longer than I have been alive (51years!). You were there when I first climbed into the roof cavity of the Sacred Heart Church and didn't scold me too much and you were there again when I asked you nearly 30 years later to baptise our first born, Zara. Thank you also for being such a wonderful mate to my parents. You will be treasured in our memories. Enjoy Bach's Chello suites in heaven. Michael Lane
Geoffrey Weule What fond memories I have of Father Plunkett. I met Father, as a customer, at Mid States Radio in Albury. I was an Anglican. It was as a result of his kindness and subtle influence that I converted to Catholicism some years later, after I had moved to London. Father visited London in 1965 and I had the great joy of showing him around. Some years later, after returning to Australia, Father Plunkett along with the late Father Flanagan married my Sister Glenice (who also converted) and Russell Dick. I have attached the photo. Father was a truly remarkable man, and will never forget him. May God Rest His Soul.
Last week, a friend of mine told me an elderly priest in the Wagga Wagga Diocese was quite unwell. I asked his name. ‘Fr Plunket.’ My friend told me. ‘I knew a Fr Plunket when I was a kid,’ Thinking to myself that the Fr Plunket I knew would be far too old to be still alive. I asked my friend if he knew his Christian name. ‘His Mum and Dad called h...
My first memory of Fr Plunket is in the late 1950s when he would bring his too long trousers to my mother, Nita Buswell, so she could take up the hems. He was great mates with my father, Don, and they frequented various race meetings an travelled to China together. Fr had many Easter Sundays and other Sunday meals at our home in Cartwright's Hill w...
