Celebrating the life of

Raymond John Pierce

18 Mar 1933 - 01 May 2017

Raymond John Pierce was married to his sweetheart, Philomena, for 64 years. Together they raised our clan of 10 children - Michael,Sharyn,Tony,Kevin,Cathy,John,Tim,Brendan,Danielle and Marla, as well as 20 grand children and 3 great grandchildren and one on the way. His career of more than 50 years in the theatre industry as a set builder, provided us with food, clothing, a place to live, private schooling, and later, employment for all of us, to which some of us still have continuing long term careers. His abilities and skills were passed on to all of us and his legacy as a legend in the theatre industry continues. As a Professional, Ray was a mentor to many and had a huge network of companions and acquaintances, long before social media was even invented. He should be remembered as a big bear of a man with a big grin and a love of life and huge pride in his family. He always had a story to tell and loved a party. As kids if you did something wrong, you got yelled at. As an employee if you did something wrong, you got yelled at, which gave him a fearsome reputation. But under the gruff exterior was a big bear heart that was always ready to help family or friends in need. He will be terribly missed but always remembered. Rest in peace Big Ray
