Ralph Andrew lived a long, loud, and colorful 80 years--fueled by Diet Pepsi and righteous Indignation. He passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023 at the age of 80. His mark on this world will outlast him. His three children, Stephanie, Seth, & Mike and his partner Lynda Self were by his side in his final days. Ralph maneuvered the halls of government in DC, Albany, and Manhattan–working in ... more

Nancy Andrew After Lois Andrew's memorial May 2005

Carolyn and Philip Evans I have very fond memories of my Big Cuz, Ralph, even though we only met on a handful of occasions in the US or UK. The last time was in Wichita in 2012 when we were gathered for a Memorial Meeting for Kenneth. I seem to remember Ralph was fluffing around on the morning of the service, trying to iron(!) the creases out of a pair of nylon trousers (pants) he had hastily bought the day before in Florida! That evening there was a magnificent mid-West sunset - great for taking dramatic and memorable photos. Carolyn

Leonora Reiley When Lynda told me she had met a Quaker Golden Bachelor who was dapper, funny, and smart at the contract bridge table, I couldn’t wait to meet this guy who had my book-loving friend fishing and going to baseball games. But that was Ralph. His energy and enthusiasm brought out the adventurous spirit in everyone. When I finally got to meet Mr. Wonderful, he indeed was. My family and I have since shared many a meal with Ralph and Lynda, both here and in Florida. We have enjoyed unhealthy charcuterie, bombed at trivia, strategized our daughters’ love lives, and of course, discussed politics. We have all been lucky to spend time with Ralph, and we’re all a little better for having done so.
