Phyllis Diller was an American stand-up comedienne, actress, and voice artist who passed away at the age of 95 from natural causes. She was best known for her funny stage persona and her interesting hair and wild clothes. She didn't start her life in comedy until she was 37 and the mother of five children. Born 1917 in Lima, Ohio, she studied piano at Sherwood Music Conservatory of Columbia College Chicago and then at Bluffton College. In 1952, Diller began her career working in radio in Oakland, California. In November, she began filming a show titled "Phyllis Diller, the Homely Friendmaker." In 1955, Diller first appeared as a stand-up at The Purple Onion in San Francisco and remained there for 87 weeks. She became most famous for her movie and TV appearances with Bob Hope during the 1960s. In 1968 she starred in her self-titled show “The Phyllis Diller Show.” Starting in 1971, For 10 years, she appeared as a piano soloist with 100 symphony orchestras across the country under the name Dame Illya Dilly
