My deepest condolences to all the family. Peter and I learned trumpet together, form 1 at Belmont High. We had only just reunited thru Facebook as I moved away and lost contact. Hopefully the music and the legacy lives on.

Matt Raw Absolutely heartbroken to hear of Peter's passing... Far too soon. It was such a privilege and honour to have met him. He invited me to play the piano with the Cairo Club Orchestra on many occasions at Manchester Lane, and we would often play instruments to each other down the phone 😂 I have absolutely no doubt that he is now living it up with all the jazz greats, and has already hired some of them for a new orchestra! I will very much miss receiving random scores from him.... Condolences to all.

Peter revelled in the richness that life has to offer- music, humour, company. I am sorry there will no more shared times, but recalling being in Peter's company makes me smile. He was a lot of fun.

Vale Peter – Founder and charismatic leader of the peerless Cairo Club Orchestra, and a proper Australian democrat and raconteur. Thanks, Pete – you gave us so much joy. Heartfelt wishes to the family, the band members, and to everyone who knew and loved him.
