Join MemoriesSusan Freeman Born in March, 1936, Paul Freeman was raised in Nashua. His parents, Harold and Pearl Freeman, already had three grown daughters: Ethel, Irene, and Elsa.
Susan Freeman This is priceless. Paul is very photogenic.
Susan Freeman Here is Queenie playing with Paul and a boy named John.
Susan Freeman Paul's hair is darker here and he begins to grow into his adult self.
Susan Freeman Paul graduated high school in 1954. Looks like he was a baseball player!
Susan Freeman Here is Paul in photos that must be from his late teens. He graduated from high school in 1954.
Susan Freeman Paul served in the US Navy starting in 1954. In the group picture, he is the one in the center back row.

Susan Freeman Here he is with his class at the Navy Technical Training Center, having completed training as an Aviation Ordnanceman.
Susan Freeman While in the service, Paul found opportunities to visit interesting places. Here he is exploring the natural beauty of California.
Susan Freeman Paul's active duty service lasted four years. He received a discharge in 1962.
Susan Freeman After he left the service, Paul met Geneva Watson, and they were married in 1958 at East Point Presbyterian Church, East point, GA. Here is a selection of wedding photos, which are lovely and classic.

Susan Freeman Here's Paul with his firstborn, Stephen.
Susan Freeman The newlyweds followed Paul's job to Jacksonville, Florida. In the second picture, Paul enjoys his favorite angel food cake.
Susan Freeman Their second child was Susan. This pair of pictures shows how it can be challenging to photograph young children. Paul is wearing a Northeast Airlines jacket.
Susan Freeman Just three weeks later, the Freemans moved back to New England. At this time, Paul was working for Northeast Airlines.
Susan Freeman While working for Northeast, Paul and family lived in Hudson, NH, Nantucket Island, MA, and Danvers, MA. He still found time to spend with his children. Eating popcorn in front of the tv was a long running ritual.
Susan Freeman Here they are playing with boxes in the front yard of the Danvers house.
Susan Freeman Delta bought Northeast Airlines. Delta sent Paul to Atlanta in 1972.
Susan Freeman Moving to Georgia made it easier to visit Geneva's relatives. Here are Steve and Susan on their cousins' pony.
Susan Freeman The seventies was the decade of big family vacations. Geneva took the stills, Paul carried a film camera. My favorite picture of Paul is him on the bike in Bermuda, with sunglasses.
Susan Freeman In 1996, Paul retired from Delta Airlines after a 37 year career.
Susan Freeman Here are a few shots from his retirement party. Looks like fun!
Susan Freeman While living in Atlanta, Paul spent a lot of time working on the house and yard. He remodeled the basement and built up the backyard with a deck, a fort, a doghouse, and later, put up a "man" cave.
Susan Freeman Paul and Geneva made a trip to New Hampshire to visit with the Tippings and the Kruegers, the families of Ethel and Elsa. One picture is the extended family; the other is Paul with his nephews, the Krueger boys.
Susan Freeman With their children out of the house, Paul and Geneva decided to move to Tennessee. The house had a big yard and Paul enjoyed himself landscaping and putting in a garden.

Susan Freeman Gracie adopted Paul and Geneva in 2003.
Susan Freeman Eventually, they moved back to Georgia and bought a house in Newnan.
Susan Freeman They moved to Newnan at least partly because Paul missed playing golf. Paul served as a marshal at the Lake Spivey golf club.

I still have a yellowbird pin from the Northeast days.I remember the Northeast 880 jet first landing in Jacksonville.
Mama really enjoyed Christmas at your house when she was with us.
I remember well, spending the night with Aunt Geneva the night before the wedding at her apartment.
I have these two adorable pics....
Loved it when the two of you lived here . We had such good times.
I will always remember Paul and the great times in Jacksonville when I spent those summers with you guys. In the pool, at the beach, the freedom at the airport, and going with Paul on a delivery to Mayport Naval air Station.
That lawn mower from his days in Sevierville, Tennessee is still cutting that Tennessee grass
