Norma Whalan

Beloved wife of the late Maxwell Arthur Whalan, loving mother and mother in law to Robert, Brian (deceased), Kerry, Don & Jackie, Phil & Brenda, Peter, Vicki & Philip and Nicole. Loving Grandmother and Grandmother in law to Sheree, Shannon, Sharleen, Dwayne, Marajah, Paul & Paula, Josh, Kristy & Steve, Amy & Ashley, Mandy, Heath, Justin & Rachael, Tim & Angela, Max, Jamie & Natalie, Adam & Sarah, Kellie-Anne, Troy, Nathan, Luke, Skye, Chantelle & Chan, Karine & Beejae, Ashlee, Joelle, Ben, Angeline and Andrew. Great Grandmother to Jaylen, Charly, Harmony, Deshan, Tian, Mia, Amali, Riley, Jay, Addison, Indianna, Tyson, Tahlia, Rihanna and Sebastian. Beloved Sister, Beloved Aunty and Beloved Friend. Norma was born and grew up around the towns of Tildsley, Newnes, Glen Davis, Capertee, and Lithgow. She was the daughter of Robert a coal miner and Mary a housewife & mother. She was the 8th child of 9 siblings who she all adored and spent great times with. Norma had many various jobs from printing, nursing, cooking, cleaning and fruit picking. Her hardest and most troubling, but by far the most rewarding job she had was being mother to 8 children! She met Max at Capertee NSW around 1955 and they remained together until his sad passing in 2008. They raised their family in Capertee, Kandos, Guildford and Auburn and then moved to Kurri Kurri in 1988 where they spent many happy years together. They then moved to QLD in 2002 to be closer to family. Norma had a great passion for cooking (especially for family and loved ones) and gardening. She enjoyed horseriding, dancing and loved to sing. She was happiest in her garden and also enjoyed a little flutter on the pokies! Norma's enormous capacity for love, her cheeky sense of fun, her directness, her stamina and her presence will be sadly missed but not forgotten. We love you Mum, and will we keep your wish and love each other always....
