Clare HughesI have many fond memories of Norma.. mostly from the early days of Strathfield Private Hospital where as a young Irish nurse , Norma mentored/ nurtured/ ( and at the start scared us a bit lol) and encouraged us to be the best nurses we could be. She had the highest standards and was passionate about the care and professionalism her staff portrayed.
We continued our friendship after I returned to Ireland and Norma was always delighted to hear about our kids and what they were up to. ( photo of some of our 1west staff)
My first Christmas card every year.. usually 1st/2nd of December was from Norma. I was lucky to meet up again in 2019 when I visited Australia (photo) and was looking forward to doing the same next month but not to be. I will miss that and our phone calls/ messages but I will always have my special memories.
Rest in peace Norma 13th March, 2025
Bridget PattersonI cherish the time we had together, Norm. Thank you for being the most wonderful aunt and confidant. I remember with great fondness your sage words of wisdom, witty sense of humour and enormous heart. You’re forever in my mine.
Until we meet again,

Anita WalkerIt is with a heavy heat that we say goodbye
To a truly remarkable soul Norma
Who has left an indelible mark on all who knew her
For 50 years Norma dedicated her life as a nurse
Caring for those in need with the gentleness and compassion that defined her character
Her nurturing spirit extended far
Beyond the hospital walls
As she always found a way
to help those around her
Whether through a kind word
A thoughtful gesture
Or simply being there when
Someone needed her
Norma’s love for animals
Especially cats &
Especially Bell Bell
Was one of the many beautiful aspects of her life
She cared for them with the same tenderness
She showed people
Always ready to give them love & a home
She was a woman who knew how to give
How to care &
How to make the world a better place
Simply by being in it
Above all Norma was a devoted mother
Her unconditional love for her daughter Jane
is immeasurable
Jane is the light of her life
We are so grateful for the time
We had with her &
for the lessons she taught us
To love unconditionally
To be kind to everyone &
To give without expecting anything in return
Norma will for ever remain in our hearts &
Her legacy of kindness & compassion
Will continue to inspire us all
As we mourn Norma passing at the age of 75
We also celebrate the incredible life she led
A life of service love & faith
Her legacy will live on in the many
Lives she touched &
We take comfort in knowing
That she is now at peace
In the presence of the lord
May God bless her soul &
Grant her eternal peace
We will miss you Norma
Always & Forever
But never forgotten
But we find peace in knowing that
You are now in the arms
Of our Heavenly Father
I will always treasure the times
We spent together over many years
As your hairdresser & friend
Especially during your visits to me
Those moments fill with good conversation
Laughter & stories of life
Were precious & will forever
Be etched in my heart
Norma you were always a joy to be around
Norma it’s time to say goodbye
Until we meet again
Rest in eternal peace
I will carry your memory in my heart forever
Love you always & forever
Your favourite hairdresser
