Because of the way that you saw it as important and precious, shown through gotcha days, Chinese festivals, and the process of bringing my sister home, it is some thing that I now treasure dearly as well, and want to do in my family Some day
Sydney Meyers I love this photo because it reminds me how much we laughed at ourselves on vacations like these. every time it rained on us during a vacation, you and dad would get us giggling with our families inside joke. I love giggles
Sydney Meyers This photo is special to me because I know exactly what was happening here. We were probably halfway through getting the photos done and you and dad started to tickle us. Gavin‘s got his shoulders up protecting his neck, dad‘s giggling to himself, and you’re trying to get to my tickle spots.
Sydney Meyers I love this picture because it reminds me how intentional you were with homeschooling and how special you made us feel. The tones that you started up the fireplace and made hot chocolate for us while we read, made multiplication competitions with prizes, made us lemonade after playing outside during our recess time, and taking us to field trips to the children’s museum. Homeschooling was so much fun and so special, and I’m so thankful for that time
Sydney Meyers Oh my goodness! This trip with you and dad made me feel like a princess. I remember feeling so fancy in my coat, taking a taxi for the first time, wandering around the store with you guys and sitting down to this fancy dinner. I felt so special and I felt like the center of your guys attention.
Sydney Meyers When we made our family Sandcastles, I remembered you going around and helping us find seashells to decorate, teaching us how to get the right sand so that our Sandcastles stuck together well, and showing us how to drag our feet in the sand to find sand dollars. Those little details of the times that you spent with us at the beach are so special to me
Sydney Meyers Tapico is one of my favorite memories from my childhood. Lazy mornings, nice around the campfire looking up at beautiful stars, biking, kayaking, and hiking around while holding your hand, made it one of my favorite places to hang out surrounded by my people
Sydney Meyers Halloween’s With my family at our memories that I am going to treasure forever. I love how exciting you would get when we would put our costumes on and complement us o. how awesome we looked. I remember the years that we made our costumes, going around to different Goodwills to go “treasure hunting” for our costume pieces. This is one of the reasons that I love Halloween, it’s because you made it so special
Sydney Meyers I love this because it reminds me of how you didn’t let me give up when things we’re hard. During my silver and gold award when the work seemed stressful and too much and I couldn’t see the end of it, you encouraged me and pushed me and helped me see bigger goals for myself and learn that I could do more than I thought I could. Thank you for not letting me give up on hard things
Sydney Meyers I appreciate so much that you encouraged Gavin, Ella, and I to all find our own thing, and that you were patient and open with us as we found it. I’m thankful that I got to try so many sports, clubs, and activities, and that Ella and Gavin got to do the same until we all found the place where we belonged
Sydney Meyers This picture reminds me of the times that you and dad made time for us to have intentional special moments. Getting ready to go to Conner Prairie meant getting fuzzy blankets, packing a nice meal, getting special drinks for us, and picking out our favorite games for a night together. I’ve loved the moments that I’ve just gotten it sit in the intentional time you carved out for us

Sydney Meyers I never laugh more than a family game nights. I think it’s especially fun because that’s when I see everybody else in the family laugh the most, and it just makes me laugh more. I especially love seeing you and dad Google to yourselves, and I have a clear picture of you laughing so hard that your eyes squint up really tight, which just makes me and everybody else laugh more
Sydney Meyers You and dad have set an example for me of what a solid marriage should be. You individually have each grown closer and closer to God throughout your marriage, you have invited God into your marriage through prayer and Bible study, you both seek to understand before being understood, you both work to validate each other, you both work to make our home a peaceful place, and you both individually have sought us kids out to validate us in the ways that we need it most. I am so thankful that in my own marriage someday, I will be able to look back on what I grew up with with pride
Sydney Meyers You have always affirmed my beauty mama. You are one of the reasons that I believe it so much now. Whenever I compared myself to the world, whenever I thought I was t enough, I had my mom‘s back up, and it affects me still today

Reminds reminds me how much you’ve supported me, encouraged me, and loved on me as I’ve gone through college. I’ve cried on your shoulder more times and I can count, over the past two years, and you’re the one that has always remind me who I am and set me on the right path
Sydney Meyers This trip was special for me that I could just spend time with just you and dad. I am thankful that at this time in my life, you are still my mom very much, but you’re also my friend, and we can spend time like this

Sydney Meyers I have loved all of the support that you and dad have given me in theater throughout the years. You guys have come to every single show, often more than once, and encouraged me and have taken such pride in me every single time. You energetically have given up hours of your time to do parent committees, make costumes, drive me to and from rehearsals, and taking such joy in it the whole time. Thank you for encouraging me to be me and supporting that in every possible way
Sydney Meyers I take such pride in what my family does with YWAM. Doing these mission trips Has taught me what service looks like, what a blessing others looks like, a spirit of thankfulness for my position, and given me role models who use their finances to bless others. I am so thankful for this being part of our family story
