Born to Carl and Anita Biedermann, Marty found an early love for the outdoors, possessed a creative mind, and viewed the world through his own lens. Graduating early from Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook IL, he ventured west to settle in Olympia Washington, where he attended Evergreen State College. After graduating, Marty traveled to Flagstaff, AZ where his sister, Kari, was attending college. While there, Marty took time to visit the Grand Canyon. He fell in love with both the Canyon and Carolyn. Together, Marty and Carolyn moved to Tucson, AZ, where they married and had their first child, Heidi. Asked to help his father in running the family gift business, Biedermann and Sons, Marty, Carolyn, and Heidi headed to IL. They bought a home in Libertyville IL, where they gave birth to their son, Derek. In later years, he met and married Elizabeth, expanding his family with her daughters, Vicky and Andrea, and soon after, Corrinne was born. He then became a proud grandfather to Elliott, Nora, James, Emily, Erica, Jason and Alex. Unfortunately, Marty was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer in January 2020. He faced the diagnosis with strength and conviction, undergoing every treatment possible. Marty stayed cheerful and alert to his last day.
