    Celebrating the life of

    Marjorie Hamdorf

    21 Feb 1919 - 20 Mar 2015

HAMDORF, Marjorie Elizabeth (Allen) 21/2/1919 – 20/3/2015. Died peacefully after a long illness. Loving wife of Bill (dec). Loved mother of John and Jenny, Wendy and Bruno, Judith and Kevin, and Michele. Loved Grandmother and Great Grandmother. With hearts we watched you suffer, And watched you fade away, With courage and concern for others, You fought so hard to stay. But God saw that you were weary, And did what he thought best, He gently took you in his arm, And whispered ‘come & rest’. The family would like to thank Kalkee Nangatta Nursing Home staff for the wonderful care mum received over the last 5 years. Beloved mother of John and Jenny Hamdorf. Dearly loved Nan of Lisa and Tony (Clark) and Simon. Always ready for a cuppa and a chat when we called in. The kids especially loved your cakes and biscuits; and the slippers you made for them. We were saddened when your memories faded and you could no longer join in the conversation. May you rest in peace. My Mum, at last in peace. I was so glad I was with you at the end. Will miss calling in to see you at Nangatta as I was driving past. In times gone by you were always up for a drive and your catchcry “Do I look ok”. P.S. My boys still miss your famous Ginger Fluffs. Beloved Mum of Wendy and Bruno (Nicolich). Nan of Todd, Darren and Bree. Old Nan of Branson, Hudson and Lahken. Cherished mother of Judy and Kevin Campbell. Dearly loved Nan of Brooke and Jamie, Sian and Paris and Nicholas. Great Grandmother of Peter and Emelia. God saw you were weary, The hill too steep to climb, He gently closed your eyes, And whispered, “peace be thine”. We will miss your beautiful sewing, delicious baking and endless patience. Goodbye my mum we will always love you. There you were - always sitting VIP Front Row ready for the fashion parade. Just like the one you now occupy in heaven. Your pearls will live on at many a champagne soiree and Moet is waiting for a chin rub! You, Dad and I will always remember who was ‘first to see the sea’ as we drove on our holidays everywhere. Rest now in total peace. I hope I kept you young! Much love Michele and Bolly. Michele xxx
