The most interesting man in the world. To his friends and family he most definitely made an impression and made his way through this world with grit, dedication and tenacity. Born and raised in Guatemala, he left to chase the American dream in his mid-twenties. He not only chased it, he owned it. Two dental degrees, Universidad de San Carlos in Guatemala and the University of Texas, three apartments, four houses, two condos, two businesses, so, so, so many cars; he really did what he wanted and in a big way. Luis encountered many challenges in his life; having to complete dental school twice in two different languages, once in Guate and once in Houston, a plethora of health issues from back pain to kidney stones to diabetes, a home fire and several robberies. He even closely guarded the secret that he was dyslexic. He welcomed each challenge as a stepping stone to move up, onward and past. He was fortunate to enjoy friendships with contemporaries on a global scale. He married Linda in 1965 and started his family, having two daughters, Carolyn and Ana. He was able to fully embrace retirement with his second wife, Mayra and they were able to travel the world. They married in 2019 and he rounded out his life with his devoted wife by his side. He is survived by his wife, Mayra, his sister, Maria Eugenia, his daughters, Carolyn and Ana, a son-in-law, Jimmy, six grandchildren, Avery and husband Ben, Grace, Mason, Abbie, Mia, Camille, and two month old, Jackson, his great grandson. His life will be celebrated and remembered in a mass, at 10:00 am Central Time, Tuesday, October 18th, in the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77025. We welcome all friends and family to join us for the service and reception. The mass will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend.
