In my humble opinion, Lincoln's greatest assets were his amazing children.

I remember Linc from UCL. A charming man with 4 girls and a nice house in Hampstead and who ran us to the airport when we were on holiday in the USA.

  1. Walter BaronI built Lincoln's last boat, Sprit.I was very sorry to get Lincoln's last email in which he told me about his coming transition to whatever is next. It was very interesting working with him. He had designed the boat, which was a bit unconventional, but he had a reason for everything he wanted in the boat, most of which were for stability, ease of getting in to and around in the boat, economy, and ease of construction. I finished the boat for him, and he did get to use it. The boat is still in the family, with his son Steven . He was an interesting guy, I am glad to have met him, and I am very sorry for your loss. Please accept my Deepest Sympathy. 3rd January, 2025

  3. Anne Elizabeth BoydMy memories of Lincoln extend back to the early 70s when my sister and he were in a relationship as fellow scientists in Miami. I stayed with them on several occasions and became exceptionally fond of Lincoln. How could one not be warmed by his generosity of spirit, caring nature, wonderful sense of fun, deep intelligence and broad thinking. Sadly my sister Helen also passed on Christmas Day two years ago. My last memory was at 22K into the 2018 Boston Marathon when he and his beautiful wife braved the blizzard to bring a hot thermos of herbal tea and a banana to help me through the remainder of the race. We had a wonderful speed date catching up 40yrs, continued the next morning in the foyer of my hotel. I was hoping to see them again and deeply saddened by their passing. Lincoln was so, so special. Condolences to you Jenn whom I remember as a girl. And to your family. Rest in peace dearest Lincoln 😢🩷💜❤️27th December, 2024

  6. Frank BymasterLincoln was a brilliant scientist and logical researcher. His work on snake venoms was outstanding. However his warmth and compassion was his best attribute. He was a great teacher and mentor. 26th December, 2024

  8. Dorothy ThomasI've been friends with Lincoln for over 40 years. We met in Miami. I had the honor of knowing him through gatherings we both attended in which we all shared of ourselves in a deeper way than most ordinary get-togethers occur. We talked of what mattered most to us at any given time. These gatherings continued all these many years, right up until our last Zoom group gathering on Dec 4. I'm so grateful to have had all this time with him. Lincoln so loved his family and told us many stories of his Sara, his kids, and grandkids over the years. He was a proud of all. He educated us on things we would never have learned otherwise. He had such an interesting mind and so loved boat building. I'm glad his son has the boat - as he said not long ago he was glad he would too. My heart is heavy, yet I'm also grateful he was able to leave us the way he wished to - no dallying, and not living in pain. He was an amazing human being with a such a great mind and great soul as well. The ripple effect of his personal and work life will continue to give gifts in ways we'll never know, for a long time to come. I loved my friend Lincoln, and will miss him very much. My heart and prayers are with his family and friends.26th December, 2024

    Family and friends

Dad passed away on Wednesday, December 25th 2024, at the age of 91. He chose not to treat his leukemia, saying "This is the way the cookie crumbles... I've led a long and wonderful life." In the weeks that followed, he had the opportunity to have deeply meaningful conversations with many friends and family members. He regaled us all with memories of the times he had most enjoyed. He wrote short st... more
