A David Lynch These pictures were taken of Leslie at her Aunt Fannie and Uncle Gordon's farm in Lake George, NY. Leslie was 16 at the time and spent a vacation on the farm. Her uncle Gordon would ride these beautiful palomino horses in 100 mile trail rides and would also square dance with the horses in an organized group. Gordon participated in the 100 mile trail rides well into his 80's and was an inspiration to Leslie.

A David Lynch This picture was taken at Camp Buckner during the summer of 1969. Leslie and David had only been dating since February of that year and this was taken not long after they went to Leslie's senior prom at Bloomfield High School. This picture remained on Dave's desk at West Point for the next three years. She was the prettiest girl at Camp Buckner that summer. She wound up the summer going to Europe for six weeks with her German language club and studied in Saltzberg, Austria.
A David Lynch Dave took this informal portrait of Leslie at the riding stables at the Morgan Farm.
A David Lynch More horses! Leslie and David were vacationing in Vermont during the summer of 1970 and came across this Clydesdale Farm located on one of the Hero Islands in Lake Champlain. We stopped for a visit and David got up on "Mr. Scott" an 1100 pound giant of a Clydesdale and the owner of the farm was kind enough to take our picture. We did not know it yet but this sort of thing became a common occurrence during our life together...for some reason we clicked as a couple with most people.
A David Lynch Leslie was featured as the "Pointer Pic" in the Christmas issue of the Pointer Magazine in December of 1970. Dave was the photographer for the shoot. The pictures used in the spread were taken at the USMA Riding Stables at Morgan's Farm and the one with the horse was taken at Ltc. Ballagh's property in Newburg, NY.

When I was in college, Leslie and I lived on opposite sides of Brookdale Park in Montclair and Bloomfield, NJ. but we didn't meet until our husbands were stationed in Bamberg. Our men spent a lot of time in the field, so Leslie and I often took the opportunity to explore - she loved following the "little red roads" on the map. Leslie was one of my dearest friends at a very formative time in my life. I am better for having known her.
A David Lynch What a great picture. Ludwig was our first dog that we got together. When the breeder found out that we were to be stationed in Germany, she wanted to send us a pick of the litter show dog and requested that we show him a few times while we were stationed in Europe. What a great dog! We met more people because of Ludwig and the Germans thought that it was hilarious that his name was Ludwig. What a beautiful picture of both Leslie and Ludwig.
A David Lynch Leslie cheering for Dave in a battalion track meet.
A David Lynch Mom and Dad Lynch come to visit us in our little house on "The Borstig" a little farming community about 4 km from the Army Base. It was a wonderful small house that had been the home of Herr and Frau Daniel's mother.

A David Lynch Leslie received her certificate for the 50 Mile Club. We were living next to Ann and Bill Tierney and every night we would go running together. It was a great time...one night we would eat together at our place and the next night at Ann and Bill's. Leslie would run with Bill and Ann would run at a more competitive pace with Dave.

A David Lynch Christmas with the family. Leslie was in the first year of Veterinarian School at the University of Georgia and every Christmas we would travel north for a two week vacation during the school break. Phyllis was dating Leslie's Uncle Doug at the time and they were soon to become married.
A David Lynch Leslie's Uncle Doug and Aunt Phyllis get married. This is a picture on the church front steps with David, Leslie, Leslie's Dad ( Dick), Phyllis and Leslie's Mom (Bobbe). Leslie was in junior year of vet school and in spite of her being an excellent student, the school refused her request for a day off. After the wedding reception we drove all night to get Leslie back to school on Monday morning. We went right to school, not even stopping to go home to get changed.

Getting Leslie to hold the young baby was great to see.

A David Lynch Our first cruise...we went to Bermuda for the week aboard the Norwegian Cruise Lines M/S Dreamward. We had a wonderful time in Bermuda...we snorkeled, rented a motorbike for a few days to tour the island, and took a carriage ride from the ship to a private, romantic dinner for two at a high end restaurant on the island. Leslie always looked beautiful and very classy when she dressed up.
A David Lynch Leslie was always such a trooper....we had stopped playing competitive beach volleyball and we decided to do more bike riding, so we went to the Elk River Mountain Bike Touring Center for a nice fall, week long guided mountain bike group tour. Leslie did great and we got to ride in all sorts of different areas with a really nice group of people. And of course at one of our stops she made friends with a very nice cat...no surprise there...she always had a sixth sense and a way with cats!
A David Lynch On the way back from the Northern New England Alpine Ski Symposium at the Balsams Grand Hotel and Resort in Dixville Notch, NH, we went skiing at Lincoln Woods trail off of the Kankamangus Highway. Just after crossing the bridge e encountered a once in a life time experience where Leslie was able to feed some hungry chickadees out of her hand. Also, while at the symposium, We got in some great X-Country skiing and got a chance to play snow volleyball. Great fun!

A David Lynch Group photo Cromwell Vet Hospital Christmas Party at our house. Over the years this was a favorite place to have the gathering. Everyone would bring something and gifts were exchanged. One year the staff pitched in and gave Leslie a nice watch, with the hope that it would help to keep her punctual and on time. To no avail, I might add.
A David Lynch After 9/11, we took our Born Free RV and traveled up to Bar Harbor with our dogs Sassay and Savanah for a hiking and biking vacation at Acadia National Park. As a nation we were all still in shock!, but we were determined to go on with life as normal as we could make it.

A David Lynch This is a special memory...Bill and Erin Jorgensen invited Leslie and I to fly down to the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia for a weekend of shooting. This really was a big challenge for Leslie, because she did not like to fly. Ever the good sport, she confronted her fear and climbed in for the flight. While at the Greenbrier, we attended their famous Clay target shooting school. Leslie was fitted for a shotgun and received a morning of shooting instruction and then in the afternoon she joined Erin, Bill, and David for a round of exceptionally set sporting clay targets. Over the next two days, we enjoyed more shooting, beautiful walks on the grounds, a historic tour of the secret Cold War bunker for the Congress, and some wonderful meals with Erin and Bill. It was truly a wonderful weekend!

A David Lynch This is our favorite picture together of all time. It typifies Leslie's love of travel and adventure. We took the train up from the town of Lauterbrunner. The train dropped us off at a station in the mountain over our right shoulders and from there we walked out on the ice fields. At 10,500 feet elevation we tired quickly but not before we passed a few groups. When we stopped to turn around a group of three people caught up with us and asked if we would take their picture. We agreed as long as they would reciprocate. I realized the we got the better end of the deal when the man in the group posed us professionally for our shot and took this wonderfully composed picture. It turns our the the man was Garry Runnack, a professional photographer from Arizona, who took this magnificent picture of this great memory.
A David Lynch Friends for life...Susan, Dale, and Leslie. The look on Leslie's face was priceless, I don't think that I ever saw her look happier than when the three of them would get together. It is too bad that Susan's camera battery died during their rendition of Moon River. They first performed Moon River in Junior High School at the talent show in the 60's.
A David Lynch These are two of my all time favorite pictures of Leslie. These shots say it all about her...she loved the outdoors, loved her pets and loved life! Every September for about 15 years we would spend two weeks camped on the lake at Fish Creek Ponds Campground. It was our favorite go to place n the Adirondaks. We would get up every morning and go for a five mile walk around the lake and then come back and have breakfast and then sit and discuss what adventure that we would do that day..We could go for a great hike, go for a great paddle from the campsite, or we could go and do a great bike ride. It was truly a wonderful place for us to unwind each year.
