Leslie joined Tableau as a SEA Country Manager and the company was thrilled to have him.
Chan sk The APAC bootcampers. The good fun moment we had. A great leader, humble and gentleman. We miss you, Leslie.
Serene Swee There are no words to describe this deep and heart wrenching pain we feel in our hearts now. There is so much to remember Leslie for: a humble and well respected leader in the industry who always makes me feel so proud introducing him as our head honcho for SEA; a fearless leader who loves to set what he calls as ‘lofty million-dollar goals’ (no data science applied LOL) to inspire us to push boundaries, and even during those times when we were shy of meeting those big goals, he was also there to tell us that it’s ok because all that truly matters to him was knowing that we tried our best; a caring leader who never fails to show his appreciation and gratitude towards the team, constantly reminding us not to draw lines that divide us but to always unite towards a common purpose; an all-in leader who was always there for the team and for the good of our business and that of our customers, and who would ask for no special treatment, including carrying event banners or what not along with us when we traveled to take Tableau to more places across SEA and would tell me we could leverage his Krisflyer status to load more onto the plane; an understanding and empathic leader who genuinely cares about our wellbeing and takes time to show his concern and to offer help, despite having a ton of other considerations on his mind. Leslie personally demonstrated what Tableau and our core values is all about. He will be our forever leader for SEA, forever our #DataHero, forever in our hearts.

Rony Hasan Leslie would drive me to our meetings with ITE and Nanyang Polytechnic where we jointly present Tableau to the leadership team there. He is such a charismatic leader and I first met him at Oracle where he did the opening keynote for Mark Hurd - a Former CEO of Oracle visiting Singapore. When you are with Leslie, he will treat you with respect no matter what role you are responsible for in the company. This is indeed a great loss to the Tech Industry in Singapore.

Sarah Lim Leslie is one of the nicest and humble leader I have ever met. Thank you for always making time for interviews and making time for our recruiting team regardless whether it is just drinks session or recruiting events. You will be missed terribly, Leslie..
Alex Tangidy This was a couple of months after I joined Tableau when we had internal demo competition within the Inside Enterprise team and I won the 2nd place. Leslie presented me with the avocado trophy and this was the only photo that I had taken with him alone. I was really happy to be able to meet him during the TC21 watch party when he was very happy to meet the team physically and took pictures with us. He was such a great leader and most importantly an outstanding person. Farewell, Leslie. You will be missed dearly
Budy Sugi Lunch with Leslie and Visidata team 2018. Leslie is a truly charm, kindness, and humble sales leader with relentless supports. Good bye boss.. till meet you again.
Rachel Kooi The fond memories of our first Tableau Conference in NOLA, hosting the SEA delegation brought back so many other memories... The casual conversations we had figuring out black mascara for your wife - brown black, just black or very black, your son's Chupa Chups t-shirt, the Javier lunch promotion are all coming back to me. You always treat people with such sincerity and humility and it is so hard to accept that you are gone. You are the steadfast leader we have all lost. Rest in peace Leslie!

Serene Swee Leslie, Tableau's very own Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was true to the Star Wars character in every sense: A legendary Jedi Master. A noble man. Gifted in the ways of the Force.
Cherilyn T Forever grateful for Leslie's friendship & concern even outside of work -- He was there for my farewell (& entertained us young ones at karaoke till the wee hours), and continued keeping in touch after I left for New York. When the pandemic hit, he checked in multiple times to ensure I'm okay in NYC, and every time I'm back in Singapore we always found time to catch up. He is someone I cherish deeply, and whom I will continue to follow as a role model for the rest of my days. RIP, Leslie.
Pras Moorthy I am still in disbelief and unable to process. But, In loving memory of a great mentor and leader I always looked up to, and have much more to learn from. He always reminded us to have fun and celebrate everything, and I don't know how I will move forward from this. I will miss him dearly and so will the whole SEA family.

i will always remember our chit chat about bicycle every time we saw each other in office pantry or hallway. you're a good man leslie, may you be well and happy up there. Thank you for your friendship.
Pankaj Gauba Leslie, i am devastated to lose you. I got very fond of you and your leadership style. Dignity is what you defined when you led the team. You had class in seeking accountability. People loved to commit to doing things for you. Your access and approachability is something that i have not seen in many leaders. Your humility made you more of a friend than a boss, senior or manager. I am sure God has something better in store for you or that is what i would pray for. Thank you for being a great colleague and an amazing sounding board for me in my formative years at Tableau. I commit to preserve your legacy in whatever way i can.
I am still processing this devastating loss! Leslie, you will be greatly missed!! I will forever be grateful for your leadership and support. You have inspired many of us through your warmth and humility. Rest In Peace.
Alexandra Roza I will miss so many things about Leslie - his warmth, his quirky shirts, his laugh, talking about healthy eating & sports, how he lovingly he spoke of his wife and sons. I have so memories of him and I will always be inspired by his leadership. Leslie was in so many ways the centre of our team. Leslie, you will be so missed by everyone you touched. Thank you for being a part of my life. I was very fortunate to know you.
I will remember Leslie as a humble, curious, kind leader, always generous with his time and support for others. He led by lifting other people up and by creating space for others to grow. Leslie's leadership casted a long shadow on our company and teams here is SEA, he inspired many of us to be better and to do better. I will cherish memories of ou...
I'm sorry to hear the lost of an exemplary leader that walk the talk! He was too wonderful beyond description. My thoughts and prayers for his family and love ones. Rest In Peace Leslie.
I had a fortunate chance to meet Leslie in person during the Salesforce kickoff this year, actually sat just infront of him. He was so friendly and open to meeting new people and I continued to have a great vibe about him from the other virtual interactions with him. RIP and thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
My first interaction with Leslie was ironically not in Singapore. When I went for boot camp and he was on his way to a sales leaders meeting. I was a fresh graduate; he an experienced sales manager, but he just wanted to listen. He was humility and warmth from my first interaction to my last call with him just this Friday. The shock and sadness is...
Mohammad Ridwan Basri Personally sad and shocking news. Even though, I've just known Leslie for just a few months. He's one good man with great heart. It's definitely a loss for our team and I would like to say thank you for the opportunity + welcoming me to the SEA Team. The first time I met Leslie was during a team dinner at Indoor Stadium and we shared a lot about cycling, which we're suppose to arrange for a session together someday. He's gone but his legacy remains at a better place now with God. Rest in peace Leslie.
Rahul T We will miss you Leslie. RIP
Shinta Aris It was my first Tableau Conference experience. Leslie was in high energy and brought the team together despite the current limitation due to covid. Rest In Peace, Leslie. We will continue your energy & passion and make you proud always.
Leslie, I feel extremely fortunate to have worked closely with you and supported your talent agenda in the last 8 months. It has just been a short period of 3 months that I have worked with Leslie. I wish I have told him that he is such a nice person and great leader. He is a great role model to remind me to be a better person everyday. Even with grief, I still cherish the fact that our paths have ever crossed. Rest in Peace Leslie.
I had the pleasure of meeting Leslie at a global sales leadership meeting about three years ago. Every time I saw him since then, he greeted me with enthusiasm and warmth. He was a true gentleman, and I am honored to have known him. Godspeed, Leslie, and best wishes to your family. You will be deeply missed by all who you touched.
Humble fighter, quiet supporter, respectful debater Thoughtful leader, engaged mentor, fierce competitor I will remember the calm and collected competitor at the end of the quarter. Gurunath Hari This is a shocker beyond articulation. Similar to many, Leslie was one of the leaders who interviewed me a short 4 months ago. Lovely human being and a great customer/colleague for me and my team. Privileged that he felt comfortable to reach out to me when he had work-related questions that he could not find answers to, which were few. The phenomenal success of his CallBlitz. It's greatly humbling that my team and i delivered one of his happiest moments at Team Tableau - along with his SEA Tableau family just this past Tuesday 23 Nov. You can sense that happiness in his message alongside this last Friday. During our alignment call Leslie raised the target to a Million $$ -- we had our doubts-- but he knew better and insisted---- And the team Delivered a Million $$ pipegen -- and that too in a challenging Geo as SEA. I feel grateful that the universe gave me the opportunity to give a shout out to Leslie this morning at the LT meeting for his leadership, even as unbeknownst to me, he was slipping into the Lord's arms. I will miss you dearly Leslie. Take care and i know you will keep guiding us as we make you proud. I pray for strength to your lovely family.
Sukanya Kemapirak The first time i met Leslie was in Tableau Pantry in 2019 and was impressed by his smile, kind, great leadership with fun talks. The last time i met him was in Iron Viz day in TC21 ,as always, he gave us a big smile, inspiring thoughts. Even it’s short period i direct reported to him and was a bit worried initially because he's a boss boss level, but my thought was totally wrong, he’s incredible, approachable leader, lots of advices to move forward. You will be missed Leslie, rest in peace.
Absolutely shattering news and still can't believe it. I have known Leslie at Oracle as MD of Singapore (2011-2013), he was approachable and influenced lot of us around being a runner, cyclist and fitness enthusiastic. Our heartfelt condolences to family and close friends. Rest in Peace Sir.
I still remember Leslie sharing with us during our All Hands Call that "he is working and eating at the same dinner table". He is so energetic with the bike helmet on in the Olympian pipe power call. I can't believe he is no longer with us. Rest in piece, Leslie, our lovely colleague and leader.
My deepest sympathy to Leslie's family. The first thing that came to mind... the nicest people go first... Truly a great loss. Leslie was and will always be a Legend with the Tableau family.
Lina Yong My memories of Leslie - Authentic, Approachable and Athletics. I missed the times when I get to see him at the office pantry in the morning, chatting over sports and anything. May the departed soul rest in peace.
Deeply saddened by the news! Loved every interaction with Leslie. He was a an amazing leader and kind hearted soul. Praying for his departed soul and strength for his loved ones
I had a fortune opportunity to meet him at the ‘Ask Me Anything with Leslie’ session not long ago. He was so approachable and openly shared his thoughts to any questions I had. I will remember Leslie as a great leader who genuinely cared about people and who was a great role model to many. All my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I've known Leslie for 5 years since VMware time. He is a kind hearted, humble and caring person. It's my privilege to work under his leadership. Leslie will be dearly missed by us. May God bless his soul and give strength to the family to overcome this difficult time. RIPLeslie!
I find it hard to wrap my head around this and struggling to find the words. As they simply can't measure up to the man Leslie was or the pain from his loss. Seeing all the notes and comments from people across the business and outside on how Leslie has touched their lives is both incredibly heartwarming and an endless reminder of the great impact...
Kogo Endo I will never forget what you have taught me in my life. May you rest in peace, a leader who was humble, always a gentleman and respected by all. Kogo Endo
King Solomon once said: "A good name is better than fine perfume". Leslie's good name will live forever. Loved the man. What a loss! Agro
Leslie was such a beautiful person. I only had the honour of knowing Leslie for the last 11 months, however will never forget his warmth and kindness from when we first met during my interview process. I have known Leslie for close to 9 years now. Initially, as Singapore MD for Oracle and now Head of SEA for Tableau. He is going to be terribly missed as a leader and as...
Leslie's genuine warmth, every time we talked, will be my most enduring memory of him. You will be deeply missed, my friend. Deepest condolences, on behalf of the entire MuleSoft team in Asia. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am still grappling with this sad news. Before I have even met Leslie, I have already heard of him when he was in vmware. Then my first encounter came. It was my interview with tableau. He was part of my interview panel. He was really nice and stayed back to chat with me. Subsequently, I had a few calls and met him once over lunch. Leslie is very ...
KJ Kim I will always remember one of my first conversations with you when you spoke so proudly about both of your sons. It was a pleasure to have met a genuine, humble and appreciative leader like you. Rest in peace Leslie.

Join MemoriesLeslie Ong was Tableau's Southeast Asia (SEA), Hong Kong and Taiwan leader. He was an authentic and compassionate leader who won the hearts of those around him. Leslie made the team feel at ease, yet motivated the team to be bold in what can be achieved and successfully grew the SEA business in a short time.
