Kevin Takeo Taniguchi
21st February, 1968 - 3rd April, 2021Kevin was born on February 21, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA to Takao and Maile (Tsukimura) Taniguchi. He received his Economics degree from the University of California Santa Barbara, and worked in customs compliance and logistics for over 20 years. During the “Summer of Kevin” in 2013, he met his wife, Maria Cristina (Cricket) Limlingan and they married on June 12, 2015. They raised two daughters, Hanna Mayumi and Emi Tala in Seattle, WA. Kevin loved to travel, drink coffee and eat good food which he anonymously wrote about in his blog, Seattle Unexplored. He enjoyed good music which he shared with family and friends through the many playlists he made. Kevin was also a true sports fan, spending many a weekend with friends and family watching the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, and Seattle Seahawks. But more than anything, Kevin loved his family. He wrote regular emails to his girls to share his observations, stories and life lessons. In one email, he encourages Hanna and Emi to always treat people with respect, kindness and humility, even if they needed to go out of their way or against the norm to do it. This is the philosophy he lived by and will be part of his legacy.
