It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ross Page, who died on May 18, 2025, at Wellington Hospital, New Zealand. Born on November 10, 1949, Kenneth is a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of so many. He lived a full life, marked by his adventurous spirit, a passion for the simple joys of every day and his quirky sense of humour. Kenneth, fondly known as ‘Ross’ or ‘Rossy’ to his family and friends, was a man of many talents. He enthusiastically embraced each role in his life, from a devoted outdoorsman to a hard-working handyman. His varied employment history included cooking delectable meals, whether it was his famous fried rice or a comforting plate of beans on toast. Ross's resourcefulness shone through as a market stall holder and games organiser, where he brought people together and created memories that will last a lifetime. His knack for finding the perfect camping spots and creating memories was one of a kind. An avid Elvis fan, Ross found joy in music and often shared his love for the King with those around him. His passion for the outdoors was evident as he spent countless hours camping and enjoying nature's beauty. He was happiest surrounded by the serenity of the wilderness, a loyal companion to his beloved dog by his side. Kenneth is survived by his children, Kenny, Brendon and Tabitha and by his family and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and a reminder to embrace the beauty of life and nature. On his final day, Ross received compassionate care from the staff at Wellington Hospital, and his family extends heartfelt gratitude to them for their support. A special acknowledgment is given to Mel, whose companionship brought joy to Ross's life over the years. The love and care she provided is deeply appreciated, and no words can truly express the family's gratitude for her kindness. As per his wishes, there will not be a viewing or funeral service. Instead, a private/closed cremation will take place on the 28th of May at Kaitawa Crematorium in Waikanae. Following that, Ross will return to rest for a while with his brother. Ross wished to be returned to his favourite camping spot and be scattered in the place he enjoyed with his furry friend Bud, and this will happen at a later date. Details will be released when known. Today and always, we honour Kenneth Ross Page, celebrating the remarkable life he led and the countless memories he created. As we say goodbye to a man who lived life quietly and to the beat of his own drum, we are comforted by the knowledge that his spirit will continue to bring comfort to those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Ross. Your love, laughter, and adventurous spirit will remain in our hearts. “Til we meet again, may God bless you. Adios.” -Elvis Presley- 1977 at the end of a concert during his last tour
