I was one of several gardeners who used to look after the garden at No. 75. Katherine was probably the most engaging of all my clients and one of the few who wanted to talk politics as much as perennials. I’ll remember her fondly. Pete

Another national crisis marked the beginning of my friendship with Kathie. I arrived in Homeless Families in time for the three day week. On many nights our little office was the only one shining a light at the front of the Town Hall building. The numbers of families in need of accommodation were rising quickly and we worked long hours. Kathie lite...

Kath and my Mum met at the primary school gates, when Rebecca and my brother were in the same class, and Ben and I were in pushchairs. When we were older, we found an ally in each other for mischief making….often at the expense of our poor Mums. I was at the Evans’s for the day, and Ben had heard about a trick where you fill a sandwich bag with s...

I have fond memories dating to our South American trip. Our friends in Waco remember her and what a hit she was when she visited us on the way to England. We enjoyed her hospitality on our trips to London, and her 60th birthday was a wonderful occasion for all of us to get together. I will miss her.

This is the end of an era - Kathy, two friends and I used to meet for bridge every fortnight. Rose wine and crisps were always on hand during the game, with a break half way for dinner, the only rule being that it should be simple finger food. We chatted, told jokes and whinged about politicians, all the while thinking that we could have a lot ...

My memories of Katherine Mary Conway 6th April 2020 I first met Katherine in September 1998 when I joined the Willesden Writers’ Workshop, led by Ivor Osborne at the Willesden Library. There were about 12 people present – a strange but dynamic collection of very different characters – but to say that Katherine stood out would be an understatemen...

Belinda Sinclair This is Katherine's dog Lola who I started walking for Katherine 6 years ago. We got on very well immediately, both Lola and her human were so delightful and we became friends. I looked forward to seeing her when I brought Lola home ...for some laughs and occasionally a glass of good wine. Of course, I heard all the stories of the antics of her previous dogs, Gnasher and Sparky, usually hilarious. Her parting shot, when I said "See you next week" nearly always was..."If we're spared"... I guess in the end ...she was spared...any more pain and discomfort. RIP dear funny lady xx

Dear Kathy, now what am I going to do about Christmas? Every year as it approached I'd think, I must ring Kathy and catch up, and she'd answer the phone saying 'Checking up on me again are you? Making sure I am still alive.' And I'd say 'Well, of course, I don't want to waste a stamp.' And we'd chat about anything and everything and laugh. I was...

We have so many lovely memories of Katherine from over the years, many of them from Christmases spent together. We will also never forget her dancing 'La Raspa' with my mother in the middle of Madrid - apparently a legacy of their childhood! We will always remember Katherine, her warmth and her wonderful sense of humor.

Kathy and I met at SHAC(Shelter Housing Aid Center) in 1969. We were both in need of somewhere to live and so joined forces in renting a lovely little cottage in Billing street, the other side of the railway line from Chelsea football stadium. The row of houses were then due to be demolished for the Euro train line which would have two tracks. T...

I met Kathy way back in 1983, when we shared a social work post in Harlesden’s Stonebridge Estate. Our time together was very limited – team meetings and a short handover each week, but we had lots in common and our conversations were always memorable in some way or other. I moved jobs and homes but Kathy and I kept in touch through the years with ...

Memories with Kathie I arrived at Ashford School for girls – as a boarder a year later than Kathie. So being German, I was her target for teasing. I remember you Kathy in the 60's when for a time, you lived in Bedford; irreverent, always laughing, your dark hair shielding your face as you exchanged confidences with your best friend in lectures.
