Karen was my first manager at the MEDC and I will always cherish our time together. She was a kind, thoughtful, and brilliant leader that lead from the heart. Her faith was her strength and her family her greatest joy. She was an amazing woman that led a remarkable life. Sending comfort and prayers from the Upper Peninsula.

Carrie Phillips Sis Karen was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman for me. She led and followed so graciously. She was always so willing to open her home to anyone. We always had such a wonderful time at Ladies Retreat too! I am so thankful for her taking the time out to help me the first year I had to lead out in a business meeting at Retreat. I was a hot mess but her and a few other wonderful ladies helped me. It takes a Village and she will forever be a part of my Village! I almost didn’t get this picture this year, but I made it a point to get every single one of our Ladies together to take it. I am so happy I did! I am so thankful for Sis Karen’s mentorship! She is forever in my heart ❤️ “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Four things come to mind as I think of Karen. Faith - her Faith was awe inspiring Family - she loved her family beyond measure Friendship - I will treasure the one we had Travel - we did a lot of it, in state and out…. I had the great pleasure of working with Karen for a LOT of years. We spent numerous hours together in meetings, cars, and on the...
Karen was such a nice person and always had a smile to share ! I got to attend church with her for a while back in the day and our family’s were just friends as long as I can remember! Shirt tail relation too!! I know you all have so many memories you get to hold on for a life time !!! She was for sure taken way too soon.. and so will be missed !
Karen was not only my closest cousin, but a dear friend! I will always remember the many family gatherings we spent together - whether in Michigan or here in Florida! We were looking so forward to spending more time together now that she was retired and planned on staying in Florida more now! I am so thankful for all the memories through the yea...
We will never understand why God called you home so early. He must have needed a dedicated church worker. That is what I think of when I think of you. How you were such a blessing to your church. It doesn't seem fair that you just finished helping with a build and you get called home. I know what a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother you ...
I worked with Karen for many years at the MEDC. She was always kind, patient and gracious. Karen was a friend, a mentor and a role model. I will remember her by trying to be more like her.
Lauren Mattox Karen graduated to Heaven and the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her husband and children at the time of her passing.
My sweet sweet Karen, who loved and cared of others with all that was within her. I so enjoyed our time catching up and listening to the memories of past times with the family. You loved with everything you had and anyone who came in contact with you felt it. I feel so blessed to have hugged you one last time February 12 when y’all came through on ...
Unassuming is who Karen Hinkle is. She shied away from personal attention, but was quick to give others all the attention they needed. I don’t think she realized how encouraging she was to me. Always faithful to her offices, her family, and her faith, and her Lord. Tears accompanied any positive reception to God’s Calling by others, especially when...
I got to know Karen when we worked together at the MEDC. She was a wonderful selfless person who was always a delight. I remember her most for her love of her family and colleagues and considered her a role model for everyday living. She will be missed.
Jamie Ward She was such a joy to be around! Her 1st Macedonian Missionary Building project in Folsom,Louisiana!
My husband often tells a story of how he and his sister, Karen , went to find the perfect CHRISTmas tree, one year. After finding & cutting the tree they loaded it in the only vehicle they had available at that moment: a Camero. Karen opened the trunk, she and her brother loaded up the tree and then they realized that they didn't have any rope no...
Karen was a beautiful, precious, loving kind soul who loved the Lord. Not only was she a Sis in Christ, she was a dear friend who will be missed dearly. Some years back, Karen and her family where going on vacation to Florida, her and I were talking about their vacation and when they would be leaving. Out of the blue she asked if I would like to go...
Valerie Christofferson Karen was a dear friend and former colleague at MEDC. Karen’s impact and reach was broad during her career. I can’t think of a more humble, thoughtful and servant leader than Karen. Her friendship will be greatly missed. Here is a picture of Karen winning an award for her work at MEDC during an all-employee event.
Wisdom- Sister Karen always had the reputation of "knowing all the things" when it came to the ins and outs of Calvary but even more valuable was her wisdom. Encouragement- In my own personal life Sister Karen was a constant source of encouragement. Although I grew up in a sister church, we had a different culture that sometimes makes me feel li...
