Glenda Fitz-Payne Jeannette and her siblings were born in the United Kingdom, she was the eldest child of Robert and Maureen Payne. Left: Matthew, Jeannette, Stephen and Sarah.
Lesley Llewellyn We first knew Jeannette & Sarah when Hillsong Church opened in the Hills District of Sydney in 1984. Sarah took us along ...we loved it...and started going to a Bible Study group in the Payne’s home. We were guests at Jeannette & Sarah’s double wedding. Us, along with friends Geoff & Linda Orr, we’re friends with the girls and their parents. Glyn & I even spent a night at the Payne’s Gatton home (pictured above) on our honeymoon. Fantastic family. Lovely friends.
on behalf of Sylvia Ralph... Perhaps it was 20 years ago that I arrived at Jeannette’s door of the room where she taught up to 80 pre-school children at Hillsong Castle Hill. Jeannette could efficiently manage many children with her non-offendable English accent, kind smile, her confidence and experience. I remember when she generously hosted a ...
My abiding memory of lovely Jeannette is of how centred she always seemed to be. Methodical, never flustered. One always felt listened to when conversing with Jeannette. One of the good has gone.
Glenda Fitz-Payne How could we ever forget Jeannette's smile. This is her 50th Birthday celebration.
Glenda Fitz-Payne Compassion children were her love and up until recently, Jeannette was supporting 16 Compassion children monthly. She made it her mission to write to each of them and visited some of them in their villages. In loving memory of Jeannette, her friends Cathy and Stan are continuing to sponsor one of her children. If you would also like to help support one of her children like a young lady named Ange who is due to finish in the program March 2022 please email me direct on thefitz5@iinet.net.au. Alternatively make a direct donation to her favorite charity 'Compassion' visit compassion.com.au/donate. Jeannette has sponsored an outstanding 42 children in the 20 years she has been a supporter of Compassion. The ripple effect across the world has been immense. This is Jeannette in Haiti

Catherine Liška-Fox Jeannette at the pink lake in Port Dennison. WA. Jeannette visited me after my son passed. She traveled all the way to bring me her hug in person. She was always thoughtful like that. A gentle yet strong woman who deeply cared for those she loved and who held onto the promises of God. She never wavered in her hope of better days for those who struggled. She was quite something wonderful.

Catherine Liška-Fox We always enjoyed getting a coffee together. This one was in Geraldton WA.
Michael Fitz-Payne Aunty Jeannette at the wedding of Michael and Amber Fitz-Payne, pictured with the whole family. Throughout our whole lives Aunty J displayed thoughtfulness, love and care to us three Fitz-Payne siblings, and for our kids once they came along. She never once forgot to wish us happy birthday and to be there with a Christmas gift. Her generosity and interest in our lives was a constant. She was always a source of laughter and conversation in a family setting. I remember celebrating her remission at Rebekah's birthday last year (2019) with a nice dinner and bottle of wine. We spoke then and on several other occasions about her new property and plans for her garden (and the pesky hares that kept visiting!). It's these happy memories we'll hold on to.

Glenda Fitz-Payne Jeannette worked so hard to beat her cancer working with a personal trainer to build up her fitness whilst going through chemotherapy. She completed the 8 week challenge - well done Jeannette. Here she is with Wayne her personal trainer.
Wayne Fahy This image is of Jeannette with the Thursday meltdown class at Goodlife Health Club Edward Street Brisbane 2019. Jeannette first approached me in 2017 to help get her health and fitness back on track. As a PT it was an honour to work with her for several years “she really did love to exercise”. Amazingly when Jeannette was first diagnosed she became even more determined to train hard, eat healthy and beat the disease “we were so excited when she went into remission”. It saddens me that Jeannette is gone but I will always cherish and remember her as a warm, determined strong willed friend.
Sarah Macraild Jeannette loved cuddling her grand nieces and nephews. Here she is with Audrey and Indy.
Peter MacRaild This little monkey was given to a very young Oliver (pictured here). It was handmade by someone in Africa and purchased with the purpose to help support the maker but also excite a young boy. She was always a generous Aunt with both her time and energy. I remember how much work and effort she put into her work in Hillsong kids, the excitement the kids had to join in with all the joy she had brought that day.
Glenda Fitz-Payne on behalf of Rosemary Bunker Lewis... Jeannette was my friend, more daughter than daughter in law. We shared a love of fine food and the best champagne, exchanging exotic recipes and sharing the kitchen easily. We loved to see films and plays together, including the Metropolitan Opera films, and she would drive from Sydney to Newcastle late on a Sunday for dinner and a film at the film club, returning early Monday for work. Jeannette had a good eye for value and design, particularly in jewellery and antique furniture about which she was knowledgeable. She has several pieces we bought together at Morpeth as we explored the country around Newcastle. I sometimes wondered if Jeannette ever slept. Her energy was boundless. After a day’s sight-seeing in Tasmania or a long walk on the beach, I would collapse and she would read, study or explore the surroundings, finding wood for the barbecue or a cache of shells to take home. Generous, thoughtful, kind and intelligent are big words that barely do justice to Jeannette. When I downsized and found organising kitchen cupboard space difficult, without saying a word she disappeared and returned with an armful of wire shelving to solve the problem. When I cursed my inability to master the computer she would sit down and work patiently with me. She installed a device to save my work automatically to end my constant frustration at unwanted deletions. We spent a week together in the new house she built – an achievement for an independent woman working full time. Feeding the birds that gathered by the windows, looking out on an idyllic pastoral scene, visiting a nursery and planting trees and shrubs in the new garden, exploring Ipswich and visiting the Art Gallery in Brisbane – these are memories of Jeannette’s life I treasure. Other memories are of holidays at Hat Head with my children and grandchildren, and with Sarah and her husband in a holiday house Jeannette organised. What a thoughtful, forward-looking person she was to give so much pleasure then to build memories now that will keep her close to me always. Rosemary Bunker Lewis
Jeannette's last contract was with Energex Qld, this message is from her director. Wishing you and your family our love and deepest sympathy at this sad time. I first met Jeannette at IBM in Sydney around 1999. She told me she had worked with my brother while at Fujitsu and sometimes after that referred to me as John, which I always forgave her for. Following that we would meet up at social events which extended to a group of friends across the company who would get together on weekends. This continued ...
Glenda Fitz-Payne Over her career Jeannette worked with many teams on IT projects. We would love for you to share your time or team here if you worked together. Jeannette on a Stanwell project at Mt Isa.
Always in our prayers and memories...our lovely Jeanette😇
I first met Jeannette at Hills Christian Life Centre over 35 years ago and in that time she has always been kind, generous, sweet of spirit and strong in her faith. A true woman of God and a blessing to so many. She will be greatly missed.
Jeannette will be remembered as a sweet lady with a sweet nature and a lovely prescence. She was loved by all who met her and all of us at Energy Queensland who worked with her, remember her fondly.
What an abrupt end to such a generous and thoughtful woman, my sister. I am so grateful her future is with our Saviour, in a place of divine light and life! Her legacy lives on in the lives of her sponsored children. What an impact she has had and continues to have in their lives. Bless you and love you Jeannette
Maree and I first met Jeannette in the mid 80's. She was a fun loving, generous person. We know she sponsored many, many children. In Heaven she will be Mother to millions.
I had the pleasure of Jeannette working with me on a very demanding project. She was one of a handful of exceptional Snr Test Analysts I have had the pleasure of working with. Jeannette was not just technically exceptional, but was a really nice quiet thoughtful happy person. Jeannette will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Nicky Fraser Jeannette was my neighbour in our teenage years and we went to the same school in Reigate, Surrey, England. She was like a sister and we always maintained contact despite the global distance between us. Around the year 2000, she came to visit me in Monaco where the above photo was taken. I will miss the cards from Australia but I will never forget Jeannette, my beautiful friend who left us far too early. Nicky Fraser
I had the privilege of becoming friends with Jeanette in our early days at Church together, even though she is sort of related – being the sister of my cousin’s husband - Steve. I have very fond memories of her – Her bright smile, her thoughtfulness and kindness and that sense of Calm that she always exuded. She was super smart but also down to e...
Always had a smile. The love for children was like Jesus smiling through her ❤️
Jeanette became a friend when we were in Bible College from 1992 and we remained friends. She was such an unassuming lady who just quietly served others. She never boasted about her knowledge or skills and as we all know, she embraced all she did with such humility. I am priveleged to have shared my life with hers and to call her friend. My though...
Jeannette, such a gracious person, generous, caring, and faith-filled. Such a beautiful soul, with a beautiful smile. We miss you, Brad, Carolyn, Isaac and Lucyanne
Jeanette selflessly blessed both our family and our church. Our kids all loved her and enjoyed her kids church lessons. She went above and beyond, sharing with them her infectious love for life and Jesus. Her support when we started our church at Rosewood seven years ago touched our hearts. We've been incredibly blessed to have had her in our lives...

Jeanette will be dearly missed. She was my mentor and hero. I will never forget what you have done for me and the time we had together. I first met her when I was 15 serving under her leadership in the children's ministry. She taught me how to be brave and trained me to become a leader. I use to be shy and not want to speak in front of kids or ot...
I just wanted to leave a little message on behalf of my mother, Alice Mary Doitch who is Jeannette’s aunt. My mum is 92 and lives in the countryside in Lincolnshire in the UK. Jeannette came to visit and stay with her some years ago, and Mum just wanted to say that she thought Jeannette was a wonderful person, a really lovely woman, and Mum is so...
Our beloved Jeanette you made a huge difference to our planet earth, our temporary residence, and for all the people whose lives that you touched, and cared for. Emma Hanson 'Great aunt' Jeanette made an effort to be part of the girls lives. When asked what their favourite memory is they said sitting on the couch doing find a word puzzles! Thankyou Jeanette for the many beautiful words and cards you have sent over the years with thoughful gifts. We will remember you with love in our hearts xx
Glenda Fitz-Payne Jeannette at an early IBM computer, hopefully someone can identify when and where this may have been taken.
I don't really know what to write here that hasn't already been written. We have all lost a treasured friend that is now most radiant in Heaven. I loved her joy, her peace in worship, her steadfastness & her humour. She personified Galatians 5:22 to me. My family and I were so blessed to have shared life and Jesus with Jeannette who we met at chu...
Jeanette was wonderful. When Sarah spoke with excitement about her coming to Australia it caught my attention. She was more than a sister coming. She exuded peace and always was ready to laugh. Even when let down she viewed others with mercy and grace. Jeanette always made you feel OK. She was a gifted IT professional but never a geek. Her Godlines...
Glenda Fitz-Payne Memorial Service - Saturday 18 April 2020
Jeanette was the first person I served under at Hillsong church or Hills Christian Life Centre as it was known back then. Even though I was still a kid she made me feel like I was part of the team and patiently trained me up to help in the preschool ministry, something im still involved in nearly 25 years later. I remember her to be to be gentle, k...
We will always remember Jeannette as a kind woman with a beautiful smile who served so faithfully in Kids ministry at Hills CLC (Hillsong Church). Sending love and prayers to her dear family. George and Margaret Aghajanian
Godfrey Fane All her friends from Kingston Polytechnic (1975-79) are terribly saddened to hear of her passing. After hearing of her eulogy, we are proud of her commitments to help people and especially all the children she sponsored. Most of all for us, we remember her smile and laughter for the 4 years of our course and many years after....at the time as a callow youth, Jeannette seemed to out drink me and always beat me at pool in the Union Bar! At least my humour made her laugh and everyone else, as we all had such happy times at the start of our adult lives (I'm not in the picture shown). Thank You Jeannette, Rest In Peace
