Jason Dospoy passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2020. Jason was a vibrant and adventurous soul with immense love and admiration for his friends and family, especially his beloved wife Aubree. Jason was born in Jackson, Michigan on July 20, 1985. His mother Cathy remembers him as a mischievous and loving child, channeling his energy into playing hockey and tagging along with his brother John. Jason’s zest for life continued into his teens and college days. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2011, to serve his country and expand his horizons. He married the love of his life, Aubree, in August 2011 and the pair spent three memorable years in Okinawa, Japan. They returned to the U.S. and settled in Southern California, thriving on ocean sands and mountain trails. Jason remained connected to his dear family and friends in Michigan. He could often be found relaxing, craft beer in hand, with a grin on his face (under his magnificent mustache). Even in death, his compassion and dedication to science led him to be a part of the Lifesharing program, offering new hope for others in need. Jason will be profoundly missed. He will shine on in our hearts and in the vast and vibrant memories we have of him. Please share your memories and messages on this page to create a lasting memorial of his beautiful life. In honor of Jason and his interest in preserving the beautiful and vital forests of the world, consider planting a tree in his memory through One Tree Planted. https://onetreeplanted.org/collections/all/products/california-forests.
