    James Robert Rebhorn

    James Rebhorn was an American actor who departed this life at the age of 65 on March 1, 2014 of complications to melanoma. Rebhorn is probably best known for his role as Carrie Mathison's father in the popular show "Homeland." He is known to have appeared in over 100 films, television series, and plays. Born 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he attended and graduated from Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio in 1970 and received his Master of Fine Arts degree in acting from Columbia University in 1972. Twenty years later, in 1992, Rebhorn became a star in the movie “Scent of a Woman” and the next year starred in “Carlito's Way.” He even had a role in Madonna's video in 1993, “Bad Girl.” After several other blockbuster movies such as “Guarding Tess,” “Independence Day,” “Book of Daniel,” and “White Collar,” he found fame on television in the television series “Homeland.” Rebhorn's last role was in the 2013 movie, “The Perfect Wedding.” According to his self-written obituary, “His children made
