James Muir (Jim) Barr

BARR, James Muir (Jim) 4-10-1921 – 6-5-2016. Jim passed away peacefully on Friday at Mary Shapley Rest Home. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Mae, for 66 years. Much loved father of Margaret, Alan (deceased), Alison and Christina. Loved father inlaw of Graham Evans, Viv Barr and Don Moore. Loved grandfather of Paul and Katia, Deb and Sam, Bridget and Ants, Matt, Simon, Emma, Liz and Thomas, Sarah, Alex. Special grandpa Jim to Zoe and Ada. Will be missed and remembered always. Special thanks to the caring staff at Whakatane Hospital, Mary Shapley Rest Home and Hospice. A funeral service for Jim will be held in the St David’s Presbyterian Church, College Road, Edgecumbe on Tuesday 10th May at 1:30pm followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to Leukemia and Blood Cancer Research New Zealand, PO Box 99182, New Market, Auckland 1149 or maybe left at the service.
